Where's the weekly claim button? Suddenly disappeared from my ESD account

So I logged into my ESD account to file my weekly UI claim like I always do, but the button to file a claim just vanished! I've been claiming for about 6 weeks without any issues, and suddenly there's no option to file. I've checked every tab and menu on the website. Did they move it somewhere else? Or does this mean something happened to my claim? My benefits are still showing as active when I check my status. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do? I really can't afford to miss this week's payment.

I'm definitely on eServices where I always file. I even tried logging out and back in, and still no claim button. Getting really worried now!

This KEEPS happening to everyone!!! ESD's system is soooo broken. Their stupid website "updates" break something literally every month. Last time this happened to me, turns out my claim was flagged for "verification" but NOBODY BOTHERED TO TELL ME. Had to wait 3 weeks without benefits while they "investigated" whether I was still eligible. Check if you have any alerts or messages in your inbox.

Just checked my inbox and there's nothing there either. No alerts, no messages about verification. It's like they just randomly removed the option with no explanation. So frustrating!

This usually happens when there's an issue with your claim that needs to be resolved before you can file again. The most common reasons are: 1. You've reached the end of your benefit year (check your benefit year end date) 2. You've used all available benefits in your claim 3. There's an adjudication issue or eligibility question pending 4. You missed reporting your job search activities for previous weeks 5. You need to reopen your claim after a period of not filing You should check your claim status page for any notes about your claim status. The option to file weekly claims disappears when the system detects you're not currently eligible to file for some reason.

Thanks for the detailed response. I checked my benefit year and I still have 4 months left. I've been consistent with my job search activities too. I'm thinking it might be #3, but there's no indication of any pending issues when I check my claim status. It just says active.

I spent HOURS trying to figure this out last month when it happened to me. Turns out I had answered a question wrong on my previous weekly claim (accidentally clicked YES to refusing work instead of NO) and that triggered some kind of automatic hold on my account. The button will reappear once the issue is resolved, but you need to talk to an ESD agent to find out what the specific issue is since the website is useless at telling you.

That might be it! I did have a job interview last week, maybe I entered something wrong about that. Did you just keep calling the regular ESD number until you got through? I've tried calling twice today and couldn't get past the automated system.

I had this exact same problem in January. The weekly claim button disappeared without any notification. After days of trying to call ESD without success, I tried using Claimyr (claimyr.com) and actually got through to an agent within 40 minutes. There's a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 Turns out I had an identity verification issue that wasn't showing up anywhere on my online account. The agent was able to clear it up and my weekly claim button reappeared the next day. Definitely worth trying to speak to someone directly rather than waiting for the system to sort itself out.

Thank you! I'll check out that service if I can't get through tomorrow. I really need to get this fixed before the weekly filing deadline.

Actually yes! I did a one-day work assignment last week and reported those earnings. Maybe that's what triggered it? That's a relief if it might just reappear on its own.

Based on your responses, it sounds like your claim might be temporarily in review because of the reported earnings. When you report earnings, especially if it's the first time or an irregular amount, it can sometimes trigger an automatic review. The system often puts a temporary hold on the ability to file while it assesses if your employment situation has changed. If the button doesn't reappear within 48 hours, I would definitely recommend contacting ESD directly. Make sure to have documentation of your one-day assignment (dates, hours, pay) ready when you speak with them. They might need to verify the information before allowing you to continue with weekly claims.

Thank you so much for the explanation! That's actually really helpful and makes sense. I'll wait another day and see if it comes back before I try calling again. I do have all the documentation from that job, so I'll have it ready just in case.

Just to give you some hope - my claim button came back after 3 days when this happened. Sometimes their system just glitches out. Try logging in from a different browser or clearing your cache too. ESD's website is notoriously temperamental.

Thanks for the encouragement! I'll try a different browser right now. If that doesn't work, I'll give it another day before panicking too much. It's just scary when these things happen and you're counting on the money.

I had this happen to me a few months ago and it was nerve-wracking! In my case, it turned out to be a combination of reporting earnings AND the system flagging my account for a routine work search verification. What helped me was: 1. Take screenshots of your account showing no claim button - this helps when you talk to ESD 2. Keep checking every few hours - sometimes it really does just reappear 3. If you can't get through by phone, try the online contact form under "Ask ESD" - I got a response in 2 business days 4. Don't stress about missing the deadline - if there's a system issue on their end, they can usually backdate your claim The fact that your status still shows active is actually a good sign. It means your claim isn't terminated, just temporarily on hold. Fingers crossed it resolves itself soon!

This is such helpful advice, thank you! I just took screenshots of my account like you suggested - that's really smart. I'll definitely try the "Ask ESD" form if the button doesn't come back in the next day or two. It's reassuring to know that they can backdate claims if it's a system issue. I was really worried about missing payments, but hearing that others have been through this exact situation and it worked out makes me feel much better about the whole thing.

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! My weekly claim button disappeared yesterday and I've been panicking about it. Reading through all these responses is actually really helpful - sounds like it might be related to reporting earnings or just a temporary system glitch. I reported some freelance work last week for the first time, so maybe that triggered a review like others mentioned. Going to try the different browser suggestion and wait a day or two before calling. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - makes me feel less alone in this!

I'm so glad this thread helped you too! It's definitely scary when this happens and you don't know what's going on. The freelance work reporting is probably exactly what triggered it - seems like that's a really common cause based on what everyone's shared here. I'm going to try checking again tomorrow morning and see if my button comes back. Maybe we'll both get lucky and it'll just be a temporary glitch that resolves itself! Keep us posted on how it goes for you.

I just went through this exact same thing last month! My claim button disappeared right after I reported some temporary work earnings. I was completely panicked because I had no idea what was happening. Turns out it was just the system doing an automatic review of my reported earnings - took about 4 days for the button to reappear. What really helped me was calling first thing in the morning (like 8:01 AM) when they open - I actually got through after about 30 minutes on hold. The agent explained that when you report earnings for the first time or after a long period without any, it sometimes triggers a brief hold while they verify everything is legitimate. She was able to see the review was already in progress and assured me the button would be back soon. Don't panic if it doesn't come back immediately - as long as your claim status still shows active, you're probably just in a temporary review period. And definitely keep all your documentation from that one-day assignment handy in case they need it!

This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm going to try calling right at 8:01 AM tomorrow like you suggested - that's a great tip about timing. It's such a relief to know that 4 days is pretty normal for this kind of review. I was worried I'd be waiting weeks like some of the horror stories you hear about ESD. I definitely have all my documentation from the one-day job saved and ready to go. Really appreciate everyone in this thread sharing their experiences - it's made this whole situation so much less stressful knowing I'm not the only one who's dealt with this!
