Why isn't my unemployment claim showing up in Washington ESD system?

Filed my UI claim online 5 days ago through the Washington ESD website but when I log into my account it's like nothing happened. There's no claim number, no status, nothing. I got the confirmation email but that's it. Anyone else have their claim just disappear from the system? Starting to panic because I need to file my first weekly claim soon but there's literally nothing there to file against.

This happened to my sister last month. Did you make sure to complete ALL the steps in the application? Sometimes people think they're done but there's actually a final submission step they missed.

I'm pretty sure I finished everything but now I'm second guessing myself. Is there a way to check if it was actually submitted?

0 coins

Check your email for a confirmation with a claim number. If you only got a generic 'we received your information' email, it might not have gone through completely.

0 coins

Same thing happened to me! Turns out the system was having issues that week and a bunch of claims got stuck in processing. You need to call Washington ESD to check if yours is one of them.

0 coins

How did you get through to them? I've been trying to call but can't get past the busy signal.

0 coins

That's the worst part - took me literally 3 days of calling. I used this service called Claimyr that helped me get through. Check out claimyr.com, they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

0 coins

Never heard of that but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks!

Before you panic, try logging out completely and clearing your browser cache, then log back in. Washington ESD's system has been glitchy lately and sometimes claims don't display properly until you refresh everything.

0 coins

Just tried this and still nothing. Should I be worried that I waited too long to check?

0 coins

No, 5 days isn't too long. Claims can take up to a week to appear in the system, especially if there are verification issues.

0 coins

OMG this exact same thing happened to me!! I was freaking out thinking I did something wrong. Turns out my claim was there but under a different tab in the system. Did you check the 'Claim Summary' section vs just the main dashboard?

0 coins

Wait what? There are different sections? I've just been looking at the main page after I log in.

0 coins

Yeah! Click on 'Unemployment Services' then look for 'View Claim Details' or something like that. Mine was hiding there the whole time.

0 coins

This is why Washington ESD's website is so confusing. They really need to make it more user-friendly.

0 coins

Are you sure you're logging into the right portal? Some people accidentally use the old system instead of the new SecureAccess Washington (SAW) login.

0 coins

I'm using the secure.esd.wa.gov link. Is that the right one?

0 coins

That sounds right. But double check you're going to the unemployment section and not accidentally in the paid family leave area.

Just wanted to follow up on the Claimyr thing - I was skeptical at first but it really worked. Got through to Washington ESD in like 20 minutes instead of spending all day redialing.

0 coins

How much does something like that cost though? I'm already broke waiting for my benefits.

0 coins

It's worth it when you consider how much time you save. Plus if your claim is stuck like mine was, every day counts.

0 coins

Another thing to check - did you get any emails about needing to verify your identity? Sometimes claims get held up in ID verification and won't show up until that's complete.

0 coins

No emails about ID verification. Just the initial confirmation. Should I have gotten something by now?

0 coins

Not necessarily. But if you don't see your claim by day 7, definitely call. The longer you wait, the longer it takes to fix.

0 coins

This is so frustrating! The Washington ESD system is absolute garbage. I had to file three times before my claim finally stuck.

0 coins

Wait, you had to file three separate times? Did they tell you the first ones didn't work?

0 coins

Nope! I only found out when I finally got through on the phone. Apparently the first two 'timed out' or something. What a joke.

0 coins

That's exactly why people need services like Claimyr to actually reach someone and find out what's happening.

0 coins

Try calling the technical support line instead of the regular Washington ESD number. Sometimes they can see things in the system that don't show up on your end.

0 coins

Is there a separate tech support number? I've only been trying the main unemployment line.

0 coins

I think it's the same number but there might be a different option when you call. Worth trying different menu options.

0 coins

Just a thought - are you checking during off-peak hours? Sometimes the system is so slow during business hours that stuff doesn't load properly.

0 coins

I've tried different times of day but maybe I should try really early morning or late evening.

0 coins

Yeah try like 6 AM or after 8 PM. The system works way better when fewer people are on it.

0 coins

Update us when you figure it out! This seems to be happening to more people lately so it would be good to know what the solution was.

0 coins

Will do! Going to try the Claimyr thing tomorrow morning and see if I can get some answers.

0 coins

Good luck! Hope you get it sorted out quickly.

This happened to my coworker too. Ended up being that his social security number got entered wrong somehow even though he swears he put it in correctly.

0 coins

Oh no, how would I even check that? I can't see any of my application details.

0 coins

That's the problem - you can't check it yourself. He had to call and have them look it up.

0 coins

Make sure you're not using an old bookmark or link. The Washington ESD URLs change sometimes and the old ones just take you to a generic page.

0 coins

I've been going through Google each time but I'll double check the URL.

0 coins

Whatever you do, don't file a new claim thinking the first one didn't work! That can really mess things up and cause delays.

0 coins

Good to know! I was actually considering doing exactly that.

0 coins

Yeah don't do it. Better to call and find out what happened to the original one first.

0 coins

The Washington ESD system has been having problems all month. My claim disappeared for a week then randomly showed up again with no explanation.

0 coins

That's both reassuring and terrifying at the same time.

0 coins

Tell me about it. At least it came back though. Fingers crossed yours does too.

0 coins

I work in IT and honestly the Washington ESD website is just poorly designed. Lots of timeout issues and database sync problems. Your claim might be there but just not displaying.

0 coins

Is there anything I can do on my end to make it more likely to display properly?

0 coins

Try different browsers, clear all your cache and cookies, disable browser extensions. Sometimes that helps with state websites.

0 coins

Document everything! Take screenshots of your account showing no claim, save all your emails. If this turns into a bigger issue you'll need proof of when you filed.

0 coins

Great advice, doing this right now.

0 coins

Final update on my Claimyr experience - totally worth it. Found out my claim was stuck because of a data entry error that would have taken weeks to resolve on its own. The rep fixed it while I was on the phone.

0 coins

That's exactly what I'm hoping happens with mine. Calling them first thing tomorrow.

0 coins

This thread convinced me to try Claimyr too. Anything's better than the endless busy signals.

0 coins

Keep us posted OP! This is super helpful for anyone else dealing with the same issue.

0 coins

Absolutely will update once I get some answers. Thanks everyone for all the help and suggestions!

0 coins

Same boat here. Filed last week and nothing showing up. This thread is making me feel less crazy about it.

0 coins

Glad it's not just me! Let me know if you figure anything out on your end too.

0 coins

Will do. Probably going to try that Claimyr service too after reading these comments.
