ESD payment delay this Monday - always received by 9:30am but nothing yet
I'm really confused and starting to worry. My partner and I have been filing weekly claims by phone for about 4 months, and her payments have consistently hit our bank account by 9:00-9:30am every Monday like clockwork. Today's different though - it's already afternoon and nothing's shown up in our account. The weird thing is when I check the ESD portal, it shows the payment as 'paid' for this week. Has anyone else experienced a delay with their regular Monday deposits today? Is this some kind of bank holiday I forgot about? We've got rent coming up and were counting on this being predictable like it has been the past 3 months.

•That's actually kind of a relief to hear I'm not alone. Have you tried calling ESD to ask what's going on?

This happens occasionally - there are several reasons why a payment might show as 'paid' in the system but not appear in your account on the usual schedule: 1. Bank processing delays (especially if Monday falls near a holiday) 2. ESD batch processing delays (their system sometimes runs behind) 3. Occasional verification flags that cause temporary holds If the payment shows as 'paid' in your ESD account, that's a good sign. Give it until tomorrow morning before worrying too much. If it doesn't arrive by Wednesday, then I'd recommend calling ESD to check if there's a specific hold on the payment.

•Thank you for the info! There's no holiday that I know of, but maybe there was some kind of system update or something. I'll try to be patient until tomorrow.

OMG this happened to me last month and I FREAKED OUT!! turned out they changed somthing in there payment processing system and it took an extra day. BUT the next week it went back to the regualar time. Double check that you didnt miss anythng on your weekly filing like a work search activity or something.

•We definitely completed all the work search activities and reported them correctly. Hopefully it's just a system thing like you experienced and will sort itself out.

The same thing is happening to me today too. I always get paid on Monday by noon at the latest, but nothing today even though it says paid online. I called ESD but got the "all representatives are busy" message and got disconnected after waiting for 45 minutes. So frustrating!!

•If you're having trouble getting through to ESD on the phone, I used a service called Claimyr last month when I had a similar issue and they actually got me connected to an ESD agent in about 15 minutes. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Saved me hours of redial frustration when I had an urgent payment question.

Before everyone panics, this is probably just a processing delay. I work in banking (not for ESD) and can tell you that ACH transfers sometimes get delayed for seemingly no reason. Since you can see it's marked as paid in the system, the money is coming - it's just stuck somewhere in the electronic transfer process. I'd bet it shows up overnight or tomorrow morning.

•That makes sense. The paid status does give me some hope. Just throws you off when something that's been so consistent suddenly changes without warning.

•Just checked and it finally hit our account this morning! So it was about 24 hours later than usual. Looks like it was just some kind of processing delay. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and advice!

For future reference, this seems to happen a few times each year. ESD doesn't always announce these processing delays, but they typically resolve within 24-48 hours. The key indicators are: 1. Payment shows as 'paid' in your ESD account 2. Multiple people experiencing the same delay 3. No holidays or announced system maintenance Glad your payment came through! I recommend keeping a small emergency buffer if possible, as these occasional delays can happen without warning.

•That's good advice about the buffer. We're trying to build up some savings, but it's been tough. I'll definitely remember this for the future so I don't panic next time!
