ESD finally approved my claim - when will money hit my account? Tuesday deposit?

After weeks of stress and waiting, my unemployment claim finally got approved yesterday! The ESD site says 'Paid' on my weekly claims but I haven't seen any money in my bank account yet. Does anyone know how long it takes for the funds to actually show up? Is it always on Tuesdays like I've heard from a friend? I've got rent due at the end of the week and really counting on this deposit coming through ASAP. First time dealing with unemployment so I'm clueless about the payment schedule.

Congrats on getting approved! ESD typically processes payments within 48 hours after showing as 'Paid' in the system. If you have direct deposit set up, the money usually appears in your account 1-2 business days after processing. So if it was marked paid yesterday, you might see it tomorrow or Wednesday. The Tuesday thing is partially true - many weekly claims processed on Monday do hit accounts on Tuesday, but it's not exclusive to Tuesdays. It really depends on when your claim was marked as paid and your bank's processing time.

Thank you!! This waiting is killing me. I checked and it switched to 'Paid' status yesterday afternoon. Hopefully that means I'll see something by Wednesday at the latest. Fingers crossed!

The payment timing depends on both when ESD processes your payment and your bank's processing schedule. Here's what typically happens: 1. ESD processes payments within 1-2 business days after showing 'Paid' status 2. Direct deposit takes another 1-3 business days depending on your bank 3. If you opted for the ESD debit card, funds are usually available the same day ESD processes the payment Since this is your first payment, it might take slightly longer than subsequent payments. Make sure you've correctly entered your direct deposit information in your ESD account settings. You can verify this by logging into your eServices account and checking your payment method.

Super helpful, thank you! I double-checked my direct deposit info and it's all correct. I've got the right routing and account numbers in there. Guess I just need to be patient for a couple more days.

When I first got approved last year it took almost a week for the first payment to hit my account! After that it was way faster - usually Tuesday or Wednesday depending on when I filed my weekly claim. Don't panic if it takes a few extra days for the first one.

This is exactly right. The first payment often takes longer because they're setting up everything in their system. Also, if there were ANY adjudication issues that just got resolved, that can add an extra day or two as well. The Tuesday thing is common but definitely not guaranteed.

Omg that sounds awful! I'll definitely call if I don't see anything by Thursday. Really hope that doesn't happen to me.

Had the same issue last month after my claim was approved. Tried calling ESD for three days straight and couldn't get through to anyone - constant busy signals or disconnects. Finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get connected to an ESD agent within about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 The agent confirmed my payment was actually processing correctly but explained the first payment can take 3-5 business days to hit your account. Subsequent payments are usually faster. Worth keeping as an option if you need to get through to someone quickly.

Another thing to check - make sure your bank account info was entered 100% correctly in the ESD system. I've seen cases where people had a single digit wrong in their account number, and the payment bounced back to ESD. When that happens, they have to reissue the payment, which adds another week to the process. Login to eServices and verify your direct deposit information right away.

Thanks for this reminder! I just triple-checked all my banking info in the system and everything looks correct. Routing number and account number both match what's on my bank statements.

Any update? Did your payment come through yet?

Yes!! It finally showed up this morning! So it took exactly 3 business days from when it showed as 'Paid' on the ESD site. Such a relief. Thanks everyone for the help and info!
