ESD direct deposit to PayPal - how long before funds actually appear?

I've been using PayPal for my ESD deposits for about 6 months now. In my experience, it usually takes 2 business days after the 'paid' status appears. So if it showed paid on Tuesday, I'd typically see it in PayPal by Thursday. However, I've occasionally had it take the full 3 days, especially around holidays. The good news is PayPal is definitely faster than getting a paper check in the mail, which can take over a week.

The actual ACH transfer might not initiate until the next business day after the "paid" status appears. If you're in a real bind with rent, I'd recommend calling ESD directly to ask if there's any way to expedite the deposit or at least confirm exactly when the transfer was initiated. ESD IS THE WORST!!! I switched to PayPal because they kept sending my checks to my old address even after I updated it THREE TIMES in their system!!! Then with PayPal they STILL managed to mess up and send one payment as a paper check anyway. These people are INCOMPETENT!!!
