ESD payment stuck on 'processing web' status - when will it hit my bank?
I finally got my unemployment claim approved after weeks of waiting (thank goodness!) but now I'm confused about the payment timeline. My ESD account is showing 'processing web' for my payment status, but I'm not sure how long it actually takes to reach my bank account from this stage. This is my first time filing for unemployment after being laid off from my healthcare admin job last month. Everything else seems good - my weekly claim was approved and the payment amount is showing correctly. Anyone know approximately how many business days it takes from 'processing web' to actually seeing the money? I've got rent due in 4 days and I'm getting nervous.

When mine says "processing web" it usually hits my bank account in 2-3 business days. But it depends on your bank too. Some banks process ACH transfers faster than others. Wells Fargo tends to hold them longer in my experience.

•Thanks for the quick reply! I'm with Chase, so hopefully they're not too slow. It went to 'processing web' yesterday afternoon, so maybe by Friday? Fingers crossed...

•Same here! Credit unions are way faster than big banks in my experience. I switched from BofA to BECU last year and now get my UI payments WAY quicker.

The "processing web" status means ESD has initiated the payment through their system. Typically, you'll see the funds in your account within 1-3 business days if you've set up direct deposit. If you opted for the ReliaCard debit card option, it usually takes 2-3 business days after showing "processing web". If this is your first payment, it might take slightly longer as the system establishes the connection with your bank. Also, if you filed your weekly claim late in the day or on a Friday, it might not start processing until the next business day. One important thing to note: ESD processes payments in batches throughout the day, so the exact timing depends on which batch your payment was included in.

•This is really helpful info, thank you! I did set up direct deposit and filed Sunday evening. It's Wednesday now, so hopefully by Friday I'll see something. Do payments ever get stuck in the 'processing web' status? That's my biggest worry.

JUST A WARNING, sometimes it says "processing web" but then randomly goes back to "pending" which means there's some kind of adjudication issue they found! Keep checking every day! This happened to me twice last year and I had to wait ANOTHER 3 weeks each time for them to fix whatever "issue" they claimed to find. The ESD system is a NIGHTMARE!!

•That's pretty rare though. If it's already showing "processing web" and they've approved the claim, it typically means the payment is on the way. Let's not worry the OP unnecessarily. Most times the process works smoothly once you reach the processing stage.

I just went thru this last month too! You should def have it by friday if its already on processing web. Took mine about 2 days to show up. Just make sure you keep filing your weekly claims on time so you dont miss any weeks. You can do it sunday after midnight and its the easiest day cuz the website isn't as busy.

If you need to check on the status of your payment or have any other questions about your claim, try using Claimyr to get through to an ESD agent quickly. I had a similar situation where my payment was stuck in processing and I needed to know exactly when it would arrive. I used claimyr.com and they got me connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours trying to get through the regular phone line. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 The agent was able to tell me exactly when my payment would hit my account, which really helped with my planning.

•Does that service actually work? I've been on hold with ESD for literally 3+ hours before giving up!

•Yeah, it worked for me! I was skeptical at first too, but when I had that payment issue I couldn't afford to spend all day on hold. Got through to an actual person who could see details in my claim that weren't visible on the website.

•Good call - just double-checked and my bank info is correct in the system. One less thing to worry about!

I had the same question when I first started UI in January! Once it's in 'processing web' status you're good to go, that means the money is on its way. For me it's always exactly 2 business days after it shows processing. So if it showed processing on Monday, it would be in my account Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: The money hit my account this morning! So it took exactly 2 business days from 'processing web' to deposit. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance. Such a relief to have this finally sorted out.
