ESD direct deposit timing after adjudication approval - how long to wait?

FINALLY some good news to share! After 9 excruciatingly long weeks in adjudication hell, my claim was approved yesterday. The status changed to "paid" right after I contacted my state representative's office (seriously, ONE DAY after reaching out to them - wish I'd done that 8 weeks ago!). \n\nNow I'm constantly refreshing my bank account like a crazy person waiting for the money to actually hit my account. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for direct deposit payments to show up once your ESD account shows "paid"? Is it 24 hours? 48 hours? Longer? I've got bills piling up that I need to take care of ASAP and I'm anxious about exactly when I can start paying them.\n\nAlso, will all 9 weeks come at once or in separate deposits? Just trying to plan accordingly. Thanks!

Congrats on getting through adjudication! For direct deposit, it typically takes 24-48 business hours after the status changes to \

Thank you! That's such a relief to hear. I've been so stressed waiting for this money. I did opt for tax withholding so I'll keep that in mind when budgeting.

In my experience, ESD payments hit my account exactly 48 hours after the

I called the office directly and explained that I'd been waiting 9 weeks with no resolution despite multiple attempts to contact ESD. I mentioned I was facing potential eviction (which was true) and asked if they could help expedite the process. The assistant took down my info and claim ID and said they'd reach out to their ESD liaison. Got a call the very next day saying it had been approved! Definitely worth trying - I wish I'd done it sooner.

Hey, just a heads up - if you need to get through to an actual ESD agent for any follow-up issues, I had great luck using Claimyr. I was in a similar situation where I needed to check on my payments after approval and couldn't get through the regular phone lines. Claimyr got me connected to an ESD rep in less than 10 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. You can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3\n\nTheir website is claimyr.com - it saved me so much frustration. Just something to keep in your back pocket if you run into any issues with the payment.

is that service legit?? seems sketchy to use a third party for unemployment stuff

Yes, it's legitimate. They don't access your claim or personal information - they just connect you to ESD's phone line and hold your place in the queue. I was skeptical too but it worked great for me when I was desperate to talk to someone.

When my claim was finally approved after being stuck for weeks, the money showed up at 3am two days later. Almost screamed when I checked my phone in the middle of the night and saw the deposit notification! THE BEST FEELING EVER.

i been on standby for 3 weeks now and still nothing. do i need to call a representative too? this whole system is so frustrating i swear they make it complicated on purpose just to deny people benefits

Standby status is different from adjudication. If you're on standby, that means you're temporarily laid off but expected to return to the same employer. You should still be able to receive benefits while on standby as long as you're completing your weekly claims. If you haven't received payments after 3 weeks, you should definitely call ESD or reach out to your representative for help.

Wanted to add something important here - when my claim was finally approved after adjudication, I received ONE BIG PAYMENT for all back weeks, but then it created a separate issue where my account got flagged for

Oh no, I didn't even think about that! I bank with a credit union so I'll definitely give them a heads up today. Thanks for the warning!

Just wanted to follow up - did your payment arrive? I'm in a similar situation and trying to gauge timing.

Yes! It came through exactly 42 hours after the status changed to paid. It was one lump sum for all 9 weeks minus taxes. Such a relief! If yours shows paid, it should be very soon!
