ESD payment shown as 'paid' but funds not in bank account yet - normal timeline?
After fighting with ESD for almost 2 months, my claim FINALLY moved from 'adjudication pending' to 'paid' status this morning! What a relief after 8 weeks of stress and zero income. 😅 Now I'm wondering - how long should I expect to wait before the money actually hits my bank account? I'm with KeyBank if that matters. Bills are seriously piling up and I need to know if I'm looking at hours, days, or (please no) another week? Anyone with recent experience know the typical timeframe between 'paid' status and actual deposit? Thanks in advance!

Congrats on getting through adjudication! For direct deposit, you should see the funds in 24-48 business hours after the status changes to 'paid.' So if it changed this morning, I'd expect it by tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning at the latest. KeyBank specifically tends to be pretty quick with ESD deposits in my experience. If you don't see it by Thursday, that's when I'd start getting concerned.

•Thank you so much! That's a huge relief. I was worried it might be another week. I'll check tomorrow afternoon then. Really appreciate the info!

The timing depends on your bank and when the payment was processed. ESD typically processes payments in batches at specific times during the day. If your status changed to paid in the morning, it likely made the morning batch. First-time payments can take 24-72 business hours to appear in your account, while subsequent payments are usually faster (often next business day). One thing to check: make sure your banking information is correct in the ESD system. There have been cases where people had the right payment status but incorrect account numbers, which causes delays. You can verify this in your eServices account under the "Payment Information" section.

•Oh that's a good point about checking my banking info. Just double-checked and it's all correct! I filed on a Monday so I'm hoping that helps with the processing time.

i waited 9 weeks for my adjudication and then when it FINALLY said paid it took 3 more days to actually get the money!!!! ESD is the WORST! why does it take so long to move digital money???? so frustrating!!!!

•The delay isn't usually on ESD's end once it says 'paid' - it's the ACH transfer system between financial institutions that takes time. Most banks batch process ACH transactions rather than processing them instantly. That's why the timeframe is typically 24-48 hours rather than instantaneous. The good news is that once your status shows 'paid,' you can be confident the money is actually coming.

If you need to reach ESD to check on your payment status, I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that actually helped me get through to a real person at ESD. After weeks of busy signals and disconnections, I was skeptical but it worked! They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. I was able to reach someone who could tell me exactly when my deposit would hit. Their website is claimyr.com - definitely worth it when you're stressed about money coming through.

•Thanks for the tip! If my deposit doesn't show up in the next couple days, I might check that out. It's impossible to get through to ESD normally!

I had to wait like a month for my first payment last year, but then all the back pay came at once. My cousin waited 3 days after it said paid. Think it really depends on your bank too. My credit union takes forever with everything tbh

•A month after it said paid?? That would be torture! Hoping KeyBank is faster than that!

Quick update from my earlier comment - I should mention that if you selected the ESD debit card option instead of direct deposit, it typically takes 7-10 business days to receive your card in the mail for first-time payments. The funds will be available as soon as you activate the card though.

•I definitely chose direct deposit! No way I was waiting for a card in the mail with bills due. But good info for others who might be reading this thread.

•Yes! Just checked and it hit my account around 6am this morning. So about 24 hours total. Such a relief!
