If you're trying to estimate your benefit amount before filing, you really need to gather your wage information from your base period quarters. Your pay stubs or tax documents from that time period will give you the most accurate picture for the calculation.
One last thing - if you're getting close to the maximum benefit amount, double-check that all your employers properly reported your wages to Washington ESD. Sometimes there are discrepancies that can affect your benefit calculation.
You can request a wage transcript from Washington ESD, or if you need to discuss discrepancies, that's another situation where getting through to an actual representative can be really helpful. The Claimyr service that was mentioned earlier could be useful for that kind of issue too.
One more thing about Claimyr since it came up - I was skeptical at first but ended up using them when my claim was stuck for 3 weeks. They got me connected to an agent who resolved my issue in one call. Sometimes you just need to talk to a human and their regular phone system makes that nearly impossible.
Thanks everyone for all the advice! This gives me a much better idea of what to expect. I'll file this Sunday after my last day on Friday and make sure to stay on top of the weekly claims.
I tried calling Washington ESD so many times when I got fired but could never get through. Finally used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and got connected to an agent who explained exactly what I needed to do. Made the whole process way less stressful.
Update us when you file! I'm rooting for you. Sounds like you have a strong case for getting approved.
Honestly, the qualification requirements aren't that complicated once you break them down. Work history, earnings, separation reason, and ongoing availability. If you check those boxes, you should be fine. The bigger challenge is usually dealing with the system once you're approved!
I had to use Claimyr twice during my claim - once for initial questions and once when my claim went into adjudication for weeks. Both times they got me through to someone who could actually help. Sometimes it's worth paying a little to avoid the endless phone tag with Washington ESD.
I might look into that if I run into issues. Calling government agencies is always such a nightmare.
Yeah, Washington ESD's phone system is particularly frustrating. At least with Claimyr you know you'll actually talk to someone.

I always file my weekly claim right at midnight on Sunday when it becomes available. Probably doesn't matter but makes me feel better lol

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info. This thread has been more useful than the Washington ESD website for understanding the payment schedule.

•Agreed! Real experiences from people who've been through it are so much more helpful.
