Disqualified UI claim stuck in adjudication - can't reach ESD by phone

I was let go from my accounting job on January 6, 2025, and I've been filing my weekly claims every Sunday as instructed. The weird thing is, for the last two weeks my claim status has been showing as "Disqualified" but I have no idea why. When I check under the Appeals section, there's absolutely nothing there - completely blank. Under "Pending Issues" all I see is a case number with "Adjudication in Process" next to it. I've called ESD at least 20 times and either get an automated message saying they're experiencing high call volume or it simply disconnects me. I'm getting really worried because my savings are dwindling fast and my rent is due next week. I was told to keep filing weekly claims while this gets sorted out, but I have no idea how long this adjudication process takes or why I was disqualified in the first place. Has anyone dealt with this kind of situation? Any advice would be hugely appreciated - my family is counting on this income!

oh man this EXACT same thing happened to me back in November!! my claims suddenly went to disqualified with NO explanation and I couldn't get anyone on the phone for like 3 weeks straight. turns out they had questions about my separation from work (I was laid off but my employer apparently told them something different). The adjudication process takes forever honestly - mine took about 5 weeks before an adjudicator finally called me to get my side of the story. DEFINITELY keep filing weekly claims though even when it says disqualified, because if they reverse the decision, they'll pay all those weeks at once. The system is totally broken!!

5 WEEKS?? I can't wait that long! Did you do anything special to get them to call you, or did you just have to wait? I'm getting desperate here.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. The waiting period is concerning - I wasn't prepared for such a long gap without income. Do you know if there's a way to expedite the process if I'm facing financial hardship? My termination was due to budget cuts, and I have an email from my manager confirming this, so I'm hoping that helps my case.

try calling ESD at 7:59am exactly! thats when i got thru. also make sure ur checking eServices messages daily, sometimes they send questionnaires there and if u miss them it makes everything take way longer. dont give up!!

Thanks for the tip! I'll try calling right at 7:59 tomorrow morning and see if that works. I've been checking eServices daily but haven't received any questionnaires yet.

Wow, thank you for such detailed information! I'll definitely try uploading my termination documents to eServices tonight. I've never heard of Claimyr before but at this point I'm willing to try anything to speak with a real person. 3 weeks is still a long time but better than 5-6 weeks!

I heard that if your claim says disqualified it means u already got denied?? My cousin said once it says that ur not getting any money and u should just look for a new job. Are u sure its still processing?

I just remembered something that might help you - if you're experiencing a financial hardship (like about to miss rent or get utilities shut off), you can request a hardship expedition of your claim! You have to specifically mention the hardship when you finally get someone on the phone. They won't tell you this option exists unless you ask for it.

That's really good to know! I'm definitely facing hardship with rent due next week. I'll specifically ask about hardship expedition if I can get through tomorrow morning. Between trying early calls, Claimyr, and possibly contacting my representative, hopefully something works. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!
