How to correct TWC info? Need help navigating the process

Hey everyone, I'm trying to correct some information with TWC but I'm not sure where to start. Has anyone gone through this process before? What kind of information can be corrected and how do I go about doing it?

I've been through this before. What exactly are you trying to correct? Is it personal info, employment history, or something about your benefits?

Thanks for responding! To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I just know something's wrong and needs fixing. How did you figure out what needed correcting in your case?

0 coins

Oh man, that's tough. In my case, I noticed my benefit amount was way off based on what I thought I should be getting. Turned out my wage info was incorrect. I'd suggest logging into your TWC account and reviewing all your info carefully. Look at personal details, employment history, and benefit calculations. Anything look off to you?

That's really helpful, thank you! I'll definitely go through everything carefully. Did you have to call TWC to get it sorted out once you found the issue?

0 coins

Yep, had to call them. Took forever to get through tho. Good luck!

Ugh, correcting info with TWC is such a pain. I've been trying to update my address for weeks and can't get anyone on the phone. This system is broken af 🤬

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Have you actually tried it? Is it legit?

0 coins

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too, but I gave it a shot out of desperation. It actually worked! Got through to an agent in about 2 hours without having to sit by my phone the whole time.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay just to get basic service now? 🤦‍♂️

I get it, it sucks to pay. But for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved instead of wasting hours trying to call myself. Time is money too, ya know?

Here's a pro tip: sometimes it's faster to correct info by faxing in a request. I know, who uses fax anymore right? 😂 But TWC is stuck in the stone age. You can find the fax number on their website.

omg this is genius. do you just fax a letter explaining what needs to be fixed?

0 coins

Pretty much! I wrote a letter explaining the correction needed, included my claim ID, SSN (last 4 digits only), and contact info. Worked like a charm!

Listen up, I've been dealing with TWC for years and here's the definitive guide to correcting your info: 1. First, double-check what exactly needs correcting. Log into your TWC account and review everything. 2. For simple changes like address or phone number, you can usually do this online through your account. 3. For more complex issues (wage info, employment history, etc.), you'll need to contact TWC directly. 4. Calling is usually fastest, but be prepared to wait. Best times to call are right when they open or an hour before closing. 5. If calling fails, try the fax method mentioned earlier. It's old school but effective. 6. As a last resort, you can try to schedule an in-person appointment at a local TWC office. 7. Whatever method you choose, always keep records. Save emails, faxes, and write down who you talked to and when. 8. Be patient but persistent. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get things fixed. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Wow, this is incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out. I'll definitely be following these steps. 🙏

This should be pinned or something. So useful!

has anyone else noticed that the TWC website is always down for maintenance when you actually need to use it? 🙄

0 coins

OMG YES! It's like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and they're like 'nope, not today!' 😂

Pro tip: try accessing the site using incognito mode or a different browser. Sometimes it's just a cache issue on your end.

Yall ever think about how wild it is that we're all here trying to figure out how to talk to our own government? Like, shouldn't this be easier? 🤔

@Sean, definitely start by logging into your TWC account first like others mentioned. I had to correct my employer info last year - turned out they had the wrong business name listed which was messing up my claim. The online portal will show you most of your info, but sometimes wage details are hidden until you dig deeper. If you can't figure out what's wrong from looking at your account, try calling the employer unit specifically (different number than regular claims) - they were actually more helpful than the main line in my experience. Good luck!

Thanks Charlotte! That's really good to know about the employer unit having a different number. I didn't even realize there were separate lines for different issues. Do you happen to remember what that number was, or know where I can find it on their website? The employer info angle makes sense too - I should definitely check if my previous employer's details look right.

I went through a similar situation a few months ago and what really helped me was printing out everything from my TWC account before making any calls or corrections. Having all the details in front of me made it so much easier to explain what was wrong when I finally got through to someone. Also, if you do end up calling, have your Social Security number, claim confirmation number, and a pen/paper ready - they'll ask for all that info right away and sometimes the connection is spotty so you want to be efficient with your time. One thing I learned the hard way: if they tell you a correction will take "a few days" to process, it usually means at least a week, so don't panic if you don't see changes immediately.

This is such solid advice! I wish I had thought to print everything out beforehand when I was dealing with my issues. Having everything on paper definitely beats trying to navigate between browser tabs while you're on hold or talking to someone. The timeline expectation is spot on too - I made the mistake of expecting things to update right away and got worried when nothing changed for over a week. Thanks for sharing these practical tips!

I just went through this process last month and wanted to add a few things that might help. First, if you're correcting wage information, make sure you have your old pay stubs handy - TWC sometimes asks for proof of the correct wages. Second, I discovered that certain corrections (like fixing your employment dates) can actually be done through the "Request for Correction" form on their website without having to call, which saved me hours of waiting on hold. The form is buried pretty deep in their site but if you search for "TWC correction form" it should come up. Also, heads up that some corrections might temporarily pause your benefits while they review, so don't freak out if your payment gets delayed - mine took about 10 days to resume after they fixed my info. Hope this helps and good luck navigating the bureaucracy! 🤞

This is incredibly helpful, Nia! I had no idea there was a correction form online - that could save so much time compared to calling. Do you remember roughly where on their site you found it? I've been dreading having to call and wait on hold forever. Also, good to know about the potential payment delay - I was worried that any correction might mess up my benefits completely, but knowing it's just temporary makes me feel better about moving forward with fixing whatever's wrong.
