PA UC payment processed four days ago but Money Network card still empty - weekly or biweekly payment?
I recently reapplied for unemployment after not receiving benefits since 2021, and I'm confused about the payment schedule now. My PA UC dashboard shows my payment was processed on the 24th (four days ago), but there's nothing on my Money Network card yet. Does PA pay weekly or every two weeks now? I can't remember from before and everything seems different in the system. Should I be worried that the money isn't on my card yet, or is there some delay I don't know about? My bills are piling up and I really need this payment to come through.

PA UC still pays weekly, not biweekly. If your payment was processed on the 24th, it should typically be on your card within 2-3 business days. A couple things to check:\n\n1. Make sure your Money Network card is still active - they do expire after a few years\n2. Verify in the portal that the payment wasn't rejected for some reason\n3. Double-check that you're looking at the right card - they may have issued you a new one\n\nIf it's been more than 3 business days, you should definitely call UC to find out what's going on.

Thanks for the info! My card does expire next month, but I thought it would still work. Maybe that's the issue? Do they automatically send a new one or do I need to request it? I'll check the portal again to see if there's any rejection message I missed.

Really? 6 days seems like forever when you're waiting for money! Did you have to do anything to make it show up or did it just appear eventually?

When you receive benefits matters too. If there's a holiday or weekend, that can add extra days. Also, if this is your first payment in your new benefit year, it often takes longer than regular weekly payments. Once you get the first one, the rest should be more predictable.

That makes sense. This is my first payment of a new claim, and there was a weekend in between. I'll give it another day or two before panicking.

PA UC still operates on a weekly payment system. The processing date and the deposit date are two different things. After UC \

I tried calling them this morning and got the dreaded busy signal after waiting on hold for 30 minutes. So frustrating! My card expires next month, so maybe that's causing a problem? Is there a way to check if they're sending me a new one?

Have you tried logging into the Money Network website directly? Sometimes the balance shows there before it appears when you check at an ATM or on the PA UC portal. Also, make sure you're using the right Money Network card - if you haven't claimed since 2021, they might have issued you a new one that was mailed to your address on file.

I didn't even think about checking the Money Network site directly! I'll try that right now. I haven't received any new card in the mail, but I'll double check all my mail from the past few weeks to make sure I didn't miss it.

I had to wait almost 8 days for my first payment this year even though it said \

Anyone trying to reach PA UC by phone knows it's basically impossible these days. After spending DAYS trying to get through about my missing payment, I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes! They connect you directly to UC and you keep your place in line. Totally changed my experience - claimyr.com saved me so much stress. They have a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - just in case you keep hitting busy signals.

Yes! I was super skeptical too but it actually worked for me. I had tried calling for 3 days straight with no luck before using it.

One more thing to check - if you've moved since 2021, make sure your address is updated in the system. If they issued a new Money Network card, it would go to the address they have on file. Also, check your spam folder for any emails about your claim status or card issues.

Good point! I did move last year but I'm pretty sure I updated my address when I filed this new claim. I'll double-check that in the system though and check my spam folder too.

If you end up needing to call (which you probably will if it doesn't show up in the next day), try calling right when they open at 8am. That's when I've had the best luck getting through without hours of busy signals.

I'll try the 8am trick tomorrow if the money doesn't appear by then. Thanks for the tip!

Just to follow up - did you ever get your payment? I'm curious if it was the card expiration issue or just the normal delay for first payments.
