PA UC missing wages issue prevented my payment this week - claim suddenly stalled
So frustrated right now! I've been claiming my weekly benefits without any problems for the past month, but when I filed this Sunday, my payment never came through. I checked my PA UC dashboard and now there's an 'open issue' showing 'missing wages' on my claim?? I don't understand - nothing has changed with my employment history since I first filed. My former employer already verified everything when my claim started. Has anyone dealt with this random 'missing wages' issue appearing out of nowhere? I really need this money for rent next week and now I'm panicking that my benefits are going to stop completely.

•Thanks, I just checked the messages and there's nothing there! Did you call them or did it just resolve on its own?

This happened to me earlier this year. The 'missing wages' issue usually means they're reviewing your income from a specific quarter or employer that might not have been properly reported. In my case, I had worked a short temp job that I forgot to include when I first filed. Check if there are any employers you might have left off your initial application.

•I only had one employer for the past 3 years! That's why this is so confusing to me. There's nothing missing from my application that I can think of.

i had missing wages show up and it was because my employer reported a different amount than what i put on my application. not by much, but enough to trigger a review. dont panic yet!!

•I hope that's all it is. Did they send you any kind of notification or did you just have to wait?

DONT WASTE UR TIME WAITING!! I had the EXACT same issue in January and waited for WEEKS thinking they would fix it on their own. BIG MISTAKE!!! You NEED to talk to a rep. The longer it sits there the longer you'll go without money. I ended up having to send in my last 3 pay stubs to prove my wages but they never told me that until I finally got someone on the phone!!!

•100% agree, waiting is the worst thing u can do with these issues. they wont fix themselves

I've called about 20 times today but can't get through. It keeps saying the queue is full or I get disconnected! How did you manage to talk to someone?

I work as an employment counselor and see this issue quite frequently. 'Missing wages' typically means one of three things: 1. Your employer reported different wages than you claimed 2. There's a quarter of employment missing in their system 3. An employer you worked for in your base year hasn't responded to their verification request The frustrating part is that you need to speak with a claims examiner to resolve this, not just a regular customer service rep. I recommend calling right when they open at 8:00 AM, and be prepared with your employment dates and approximate earnings for the past 18 months.

•Thank you for explaining! I tried calling right at 8am today but still couldn't get through. Is there any other time that might be better?

I had exactly the same issue last month and was going INSANE trying to reach someone. After 4 days of constant calling and never getting through, I found out about this service called Claimyr that got me connected to a PA UC agent within 30 minutes. It was such a relief! You can see how it works at claimyr.com or check their video demo at https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. My missing wages issue turned out to be a simple verification thing and the agent fixed it while I was on the phone. My payment came through two days later.

•Thank you so much for this suggestion! I'm going to check it out right now. I'm desperate to talk to someone and resolve this before my rent is due.

It's definitely legit - I was skeptical too but it actually got me through when nothing else worked. The PA UC phone system is just completely overloaded.

Once you get through to a representative, ask them to specifically tell you which quarter or employer is showing the wage discrepancy. In most cases, they can resolve it while you're on the phone if it's a minor difference. If it's a larger issue, they may ask you to provide documentation like pay stubs or W-2 forms. For anyone dealing with similar issues, make sure to continue filing your weekly claims during this time, even though you're not receiving payments. Once the issue is resolved, you'll receive all back payments you're eligible for.

•That's really helpful to know! I'll definitely keep filing my weekly claims. I was worried that might mess something up, but sounds like it's the right thing to do.

This happened to me and it was because I accidentally transposed two numbers when entering my wages. Check if you have a copy of your initial application to see if maybe you made a typo somewhere.

•I didn't even think of that! I'll try to find my application and double-check the numbers.

UPDATE: I finally got through to a representative today! Turns out there was a discrepancy between what I reported for my last quarter and what my employer reported. The difference was only about $200 but it triggered an automatic review. The rep was able to verify everything and said my payments should resume with next week's claim. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
