PA UC payments with multiple open issues - do all issues need to be resolved first?
I just checked my PA UC dashboard and I've got 5 different open issues on my claim. Didn't even know that was possible! My rent is due next week and I'm freaking out because I haven't received any payments for 3 weeks now. Does anyone know if I'll get paid once SOME issues are resolved, or do ALL FIVE need to be fixed before I see any money? The issues are mostly about my previous employer disputing my hours, one about job search requirements, and something about identity verification. The UC website is absolutely no help and I've been trying to call for days with no luck.

Unfortunately, all open issues generally need to be resolved before they'll release any payments to you. PA UC puts a hold on everything until each issue is cleared. What specifically are your issues? Some can be resolved quickly while others take weeks.

•Seriously?? ALL of them?? Two are about my hours at my last job (they're saying I worked more than I reported), one is that stupid ID verification that I thought I already did, another is about my job search activities for week 1, and I have no idea what the fifth one even means - it has some code I don't understand. This is going to take FOREVER!

I've worked with the PA UC system for years and here's what you need to know: Yes, all issues typically need to be resolved before payment is released. However, there are exceptions. Identity verification issues are usually prioritized. The fastest way to resolve multiple issues is to speak directly with a claims examiner who can review your entire file. For the job search issue, make sure you're uploading proof of your work search activities in your weekly certifications. For identity verification, check if you need to complete ID.me verification if you haven't already. You should prioritize getting through to an actual person on the phone - that's the fastest way to get all issues addressed at once.

•I agree with this 100%. When I had 3 issues on my claim last year, I couldn't get through on the phone for 2 weeks and my claim sat idle. Once I finally reached someone, they cleared all three issues during that one call and my payment was processed the next day. The key is definitely getting through to a real person.

My sister had 6 issues on her claim back in November! Can you believe that?? They were all because her previous job tried to say she quit but she was actually laid off. Anyway she got really stressed too but her husband still had his job so they were ok for a while but i know not everyone has that backup plan...

•How long did it take for her to get it resolved? I don't have a backup plan and my savings are almost gone :

•I think it was like 5 weeks? She was really upset about it. Hope yours gets fixed faster!!

The PA UC system is DELIBERATELY DESIGNED to be this complicated!!! They put all these ridiculous "issues" on claims hoping people will just give up. I had SEVEN issues on my claim in January and they were ALL pure BS! Had to fight for EVERY PENNY! They're playing games with our lives while we can't pay bills. THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN ON PURPOSE!

•While the system definitely has problems, most issues are legitimate verification steps required by law, not intentional obstacles. The real problem is understaffing and outdated technology that causes delays in processing those verification steps. I understand your frustration though - the delays feel personal when you're waiting for money you need.

I know it sounds crazy, but try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual UC representative. It worked for me when I had multiple issues on my claim. They helped me get through to PA UC when I couldn't get through for weeks. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Once I got through to someone, they were able to review all my issues at once and cleared 3 of the 4 on the spot. The last one needed paperwork but at least I understood what was happening.

•I've never heard of this before. Does it actually work? I'm desperate at this point so I'll try anything.

•It worked for me, but obviously I can't guarantee anything. It's just a lot better than hitting redial for hours. The rep I spoke with said they prioritize resolving multiple issues when possible because it's more efficient for them too.

this happened 2 me but 1 of my issues was pending while the other was in progress and they let me get paid after the pending 1 was fixed so maybe its different sometimes?

•That's interesting - what you experienced is uncommon but can happen. Sometimes the system will allow payment if only non-disqualifying issues remain. Issues are categorized as either "disqualifying" (stops payment until resolved) or "non-disqualifying" (allows payment while being investigated). It sounds like your remaining issue was non-disqualifying.

check ur dashboard 2 see if the issues say 'pending' or 'in progress' cuz that tells u different things

•Just checked - 3 say 'pending' and 2 say 'in progress'. What does that mean exactly?

•'In progress' typically means a claims examiner has started reviewing that issue. 'Pending' means it's in the queue but hasn't been assigned for review yet. The good news is that someone is at least looking at some of your issues. Try to get through to a representative to ask them to prioritize reviewing all of them together.

I'd recommend taking these specific steps while you wait: 1. Make sure you're still filing your weekly claims even though you're not getting paid yet 2. Upload any documentation related to the issues (pay stubs, termination letter, etc.) through the dashboard 3. Complete ID.me verification if that's one of your issues 4. Document all your job search activities thoroughly 5. Keep calling the UC service center When they do resolve the issues, you'll receive all back payments you're eligible for in one lump sum, so you won't lose any benefits you're entitled to.

•Thank you for the practical advice. I've been filing weekly but wasn't sure about uploading additional documents. I'll get that done today and keep trying to reach someone by phone. Really hoping this gets resolved soon - my landlord isn't very patient.
