PA unemployment payment shows 'paid' but money never arrived - different state issue?

Has anyone had their PA UC payment show up as 'paid' but never actually get the money? My biweekly claim was processed last Friday (shows paid in the system), but nothing's hit my bank account yet. When I called, the automated system said something weird about Kentucky?? The rep I finally reached said they 'fixed the issue' but it's been 5 days and still nothing. My rent is due tomorrow and I'm seriously freaking out. This is my 3rd payment and the first two came through fine. Do I need to call again or wait longer? How do I prove something is wrong when their system says it's paid?

This exact thing happened to me in March! The system showed paid but money never arrived. Turned out they had accidentally linked my claim to an out-of-state system (in my case it was Maryland). It took them about 8 days to sort it out and get my payment processed correctly. You definitely need to call again and specifically ask if your payment was routed to Kentucky's system by mistake and what they're doing to recover it.

8 DAYS?? I can't wait that long! Did you have to do anything special to get it fixed or just wait?

sounds like an interstate wage claim issue. u probably worked in KY at some point? or maybe have same name as someone in KY system? they gotta manually override it

This is actually a known glitch in the PA UC interstate claims system. When they migrated to the new benefits platform in late 2024, some claims got incorrectly tagged with out-of-state markers. The money is still in the PA system, but it's essentially stuck in a processing loop. You need to speak with someone in the Interstate Claims department specifically. Call the PA UC service center and request to speak with someone who handles interstate wage claims, even though that's not actually your situation. Explain that your payment shows as paid but was incorrectly routed as a Kentucky claim. They'll need to manually release the payment by clearing the interstate flag on your account. This isn't something that will resolve itself - you need to get to the right department. And unfortunately, the regular UC representatives often don't know how to properly handle this specific issue.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! The problem is I can't get through to anyone when I call. I've been trying all day and keep getting busy signals or disconnected after waiting forever.

I had a similar issue where my payment got stuck in their system after showing as paid. I was getting nowhere with the regular phone lines - busy signals for days. I finally used a service called Claimyr that got me through to a live PA UC agent in about 20 minutes. They have this system that navigates all the phone menus and waits on hold for you, then calls you when an agent is on the line. You can check out how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and their website is claimyr.com. When I got through, I specifically asked for the Interstate Claims department as someone else suggested here, and they fixed my payment issue on the spot. The money was in my account the next day after being stuck for over a week.

Thank you! I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point. Does it really work? I'll check out that video link.

57 times?? That's insane. I'm already at like 30 calls today with no luck.

Hate to say this but SOMETIMES the PA UC reps will mark something as "fixed" in their system just to clear it from their queue, when they actually have no idea how to fix it. I've been through this rodeo multiple times. You need to be SUPER specific when you call back - ask to speak to a supervisor who handles interstate payment routing issues specifically. Don't let them transfer you to general questions or regular claim issues.

This is absolutely correct. I had to be extremely specific about needing the interstate claims department when I had my issue. The first two reps I spoke with had no idea what to do and just put notes on my account that did nothing.

Quick update on this issue - PA UC just released an official statement about this problem. It's affecting claimants who filed in January-February 2025 and had any previous employment history entered into the system manually. There's a data field in the system that's incorrectly pulling state codes from a lookup table. They've created a special email address for this specific issue: interstate.correction@pa.gov - you should email them with your claim ID, last 4 of SSN, and the date the payment shows as paid. Put "Interstate Payment Correction" in the subject line. This is going directly to the team handling these cases, which is faster than waiting to get through the phone system right now.

THANK YOU! I just sent an email to that address with all my info. I'll update here if it works. I really appreciate everyone's help!

did u check if ur Money Network card is active?? could be there instead of bank account

I don't have a Money Network card - I set up direct deposit when I first filed.

UPDATE: I got my money!! After sending the email to that interstate.correction address, they fixed it within 24 hours and the payment hit my account this morning. For anyone else with this issue - definitely email that special address and be super clear that it's showing paid but linked to another state somehow. Thank you everyone for your help! I can pay my rent now!

Excellent! Glad to hear it worked out. For future reference, it's always good to keep that email address handy in case it happens again, since this issue has been recurring for some claimants.
