PA UC login errors after IDme verification - stuck in username/password loop
Just completed my IDme verification on Thanksgiving Day and everything seemed to go smoothly... until I tried logging back into my PA UC account. First I kept getting error messages saying there was a 'technical error' and that they were 'working on it.' So I figured I'd give it a few days and try again. Now when I attempt to log in this week, the system keeps telling me my username or password is incorrect. I KNOW I'm entering everything correctly - have even tried typing super slowly to make sure there are no typos. When I try to reset my password, it just bounces me back to the same 'incorrect username/password' screen! I'm stuck in this weird login loop and can't access my account at all. Has anyone else dealt with this after IDme verification? What should I do to fix this? I need to file my weekly claim and I'm getting really worried about missing payments.

•Thanks, I'll try clearing cookies. Did you eventually get in using a different browser or did you have to call them?

Sounds like a classic case of the PA UC system not properly syncing with IDme. I've been dealing with PA unemployment for 3 years now and this happens ALL THE TIME after major holidays. Their systems don't communicate properly when they do maintenance. You need to wait 48 hours after IDme verification before trying to log in. Try these steps: 1. Clear ALL cookies and cache 2. Try incognito/private browser window 3. Use Chrome if possible (their site hates Firefox) 4. If it still fails, you have to call them directly Sorry you're dealing with this. The UC system is honestly the worst designed government portal I've ever had to use!

•LOL @ "their site hates Firefox" - THIS IS SO TRUE!!! I thought it was just my computer. Anything Mozilla-based and the PA UC site goes bonkers.

After you do the IDme verification, there's actually a waiting period before the systems sync up properly. The holiday probably delayed things even more. What you're experiencing is annoying but actually pretty common. Here's what worked for me when this happened in March: 1. Wait a full 24 hours without any login attempts (hard, I know) 2. Clear browser data completely 3. Try logging in early morning (like 5-6 AM) when system traffic is lowest If that doesn't work, you unfortunately need to speak with a human at UC. Good luck getting through though - phones are always jammed.

•Thanks for the tips! I'll try waiting 24 hours and then doing early morning login. Really hoping that works because calling seems impossible - I've already tried and just get endless busy signals.

I HATE THE PA UC WEBSITE WITH A BURNING PASSION!!!! Had this EXACT problem after creating my account and doing IDme. Called for THREE WEEKS straight and couldn't get through - busy signals or disconnections everytime!! My benefits were delayed for over a month because of their stupid system errors!!! They really don't care about people who actually need the money.

•this is why I quit trying to file. system is rigged to make it impossible to get benefits. easier to just take any job than deal with PA UC

After trying everything with no luck (cookies, browsers, 24 hr waiting), I finally got through to someone at PA UC using Claimyr. It's a service that connects you with an unemployment rep without the endless calling and busy signals. Costs a bit but saved me weeks of stress. Their site has a video demo of how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Turns out my account had a "verification flag" that needed to be manually removed by a rep even though I'd completed IDme. Got it fixed in one call. Check out claimyr.com if you keep hitting walls.

•Thank you SO much for this suggestion! Just watched the demo video and this looks like exactly what I need. At this point I'm willing to try anything to get my account fixed before I miss filing for this week.

I work in IT and this sounds like a session management problem on their end, not your login credentials. The PA UC system uses a notoriously problematic authentication system that doesn't always properly sync with IDme. A few technical things to try: 1. Try a completely different device if possible (not just a different browser) 2. Make sure JavaScript is fully enabled 3. Check if you're using any browser extensions that might block cookies or scripts 4. Use cellular data instead of wifi if you're trying on mobile If none of these work, then there's a backend issue with your account that requires staff intervention. In that case, you need to call them directly. Unfortunately, getting through to an actual human at PA UC is extremely difficult due to high call volumes.

•this makes so much sense! when I had this problem last yr a rep finally told me my account got 'stuck in verification status' and they had to manually fix something in their system. no amount of password resets would've fixed it

Update: After trying all the browser suggestions (clearing cache, different browsers, incognito mode) I'm still getting the same error. I tried the early morning login at 5:30am but no luck. I also tried calling PA UC directly yesterday but couldn't get through after 37 attempts - just busy signals and one time I was on hold for 45 minutes before getting disconnected. I'm going to try the Claimyr service that someone suggested above. At this point I just need to talk to an actual person at PA UC before I miss another week of benefits. Will update again after I try it.

•Good call. My neighbor had a similar issue and it turned out there was a flag on his account that could ONLY be fixed by a human rep. The PA UC online system is seriously broken. Hope you get through!

FINAL UPDATE: Success! Used Claimyr and got connected to a PA UC rep in about 20 minutes. The rep told me my account had gotten stuck in "post-verification status" after the IDme verification - apparently a common issue they've been seeing recently. It wasn't a problem with my password at all, but rather my entire account was frozen waiting for manual approval. The rep cleared the flag and I was able to log in immediately after our call. Already filed my weekly certification and all looks good now. For anyone else with this issue - it seems this is a known problem with their system after IDme verification, especially if you create an account and verify on a holiday/weekend. You'll likely need to speak with a rep directly to get it fixed.

•Glad that worked for you! Same thing happened to me. It's ridiculous they don't just put this info on their website to save everyone the trouble. But that would make too much sense for PA UC 🙄

This is such a helpful thread! I'm dealing with something similar right now - completed IDme verification last week and now I'm getting "session expired" errors every time I try to log in, even right after entering my credentials. Based on what everyone's saying here, it sounds like there's probably a backend flag on my account that needs manual clearing. Going to try the Claimyr service since calling directly seems impossible. Thanks for sharing your experience Paolo - gives me hope that this can actually be fixed!

•@Anastasia Fedorov Yes, the session "expired error" sounds very similar to what I experienced! That s'another symptom of the post-IDme verification flag issue. Definitely try Claimyr - it was honestly a lifesaver. The rep I spoke with mentioned they ve'been getting tons of calls about this exact problem lately, so you re'definitely not alone. The whole thing got resolved in one call once I could actually talk to someone. Good luck!

•@Anastasia Fedorov Had the exact same session "expired issue" after my IDme verification! It s'definitely that backend flag problem everyone s'talking about. I tried all the usual fixes different (browsers, clearing cache, etc. but) nothing worked until I got a human rep involved. The session expiring immediately is a dead giveaway that your account is stuck in verification limbo. Claimyr really is worth it if you can t'get through the regular phone lines - saves so much frustration!

Wow, this thread is incredibly helpful! I'm bookmarking this for future reference. It's crazy how many people are dealing with the same IDme verification issues with PA UC. The fact that there's a known "post-verification status" flag that gets stuck but they don't warn people about it is just typical government incompetence. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and solutions - especially the Claimyr recommendation. It's sad that we have to pay a third party service just to access benefits we're entitled to, but if it works it works. The PA UC system really needs a complete overhaul!

•Totally agree! This thread should be pinned or something - it's like a complete troubleshooting guide for the IDme verification nightmare. I went through this same mess 6 months ago and spent WEEKS trying to figure it out on my own. Wish I had found info like this back then! The whole "post-verification flag" thing is such a common issue that PA UC should have an automated system to clear it, or at least put up a notice on their website explaining what to do. Instead we're all left scrambling and paying third parties just to access our own benefits. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - you're probably saving dozens of people from weeks of frustration!

This is exactly what I needed to see! I've been pulling my hair out for the past week with the same issue after completing IDme verification. Got the "technical error" messages initially, then the username/password loop, and now I'm getting random "session timeout" errors. I tried all the browser troubleshooting steps multiple times with no luck. Reading through everyone's experiences here, it's clear this is a systemic issue with PA UC's backend not properly handling the IDme integration. The fact that so many people are experiencing identical problems after verification really shows how broken their system is. I'm definitely going to try the Claimyr service - at this point I'd rather pay a small fee than waste more weeks trying to get through their impossible phone system. Thanks Paolo for the detailed updates and everyone else for sharing your solutions. This thread is going to save me so much time and stress!
