PA UC application stuck - DOB values don't match error but only asked once?

I'm trying to complete my PA unemployment application and keep hitting a roadblock. The system says 'DOB values don't match' but I've only been asked to enter my date of birth in ONE place! What is it supposed to be matching with? Is there some hidden field I'm missing? I've tried logging out and back in, clearing my cache, even using a different browser, but I get the same error every time. It's preventing me from completing my application and I really need these benefits soon. Anyone else run into this weird DOB error? Any suggestions on how to get past this?

This is a common glitch with the PA UC system. The DOB it's trying to match is actually the one from your SSA records. The issue might be that you entered your birth date differently in your initial IDme verification compared to the main application. Try entering your DOB in MM/DD/YYYY format rather than selecting from the calendar dropdown. If that doesn't work, you'll need to call them directly to fix the verification issue on their end.

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried the MM/DD/YYYY format but still getting the same error. Ugh, guess I'll have to call them. Any idea how long the wait times are currently?

OMG the SAME THING happened to me last month!! I spent THREE DAYS trying to fix it myself before I finally got thru to someone. TURNS OUT my birthdate in their system was wrong by ONE DAY from what I know it is!!! The rep said sometimes when they import data from employer records or driver's license info it gets messed up. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

Wow, off by one day? That's crazy! How long did it take you to actually reach someone on the phone? I've been trying for hours and can't get through.

Try calling right when they open at 8am. Thats what i did and only had to wait 25 mins instead of never getting thru. also check ur drivers license maybe u entered wrong date there and thats what its checking against

calling at 8am doesnt work anymore, everyone knows that trick now lol. better off trying at like 10:30 when the morning rush dies down

I've been helping people with PA UC applications for years and this DOB mismatch is actually getting more common with their new system update. Here's what you need to know: the system is cross-referencing your DOB against multiple databases (SSA, DMV, and your employer records). If ANY of these sources have a different date, you'll get this error. The fastest solution is using Claimyr to connect with an agent who can override the error directly in the system. I started recommending it to clients after they upgraded their UC system. You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 and sign up at claimyr.com. An agent can look up exactly where the mismatch is happening and fix it on the spot rather than you trying to guess what's wrong.

Is this actually legit? Seems suspicious that they could get you through when you can't get through yourself...

Yes, it's completely legitimate. They use a system that continuously redials the UC office until they get through, then connect you directly to an agent. Many people on this forum have used it successfully when facing these verification issues.

Just to add some clarification here - this DOB matching error is specifically related to the identity verification system used by PA UC. When you initially create your account, your information is verified against both SSA records and also potentially your wage records submitted by employers. The solution depends on where you are in the application process: 1. If you're at initial signup: Try using the "Identity verification issue" option in the message center 2. If you've already created an account but can't complete the application: You'll need an agent to compare the records directly 3. If you're trying to reopen an existing claim: The DOB must match what was previously used The technical term for this is an "identity cross-reference error" in their system. Be sure to use that specific phrase when you do reach someone.

Thank you for this detailed explanation! I'm stuck at step 2 - created the account but can't complete the application. I'll definitely use that technical term when I call. Really appreciate this info.

did u try typing it in different formats? like 01/02/1980 vs 1/2/1980? sometimes the system is picky about that stuff. also make sure ur not accidentally putting the current year instead of birth year lol i did that once 🤦‍♀️

I tried both formats and triple-checked the year. Still no luck! 😫

Just updating - I used that Claimyr thing someone mentioned and it actually worked! Got through to someone in like 20 mins instead of never. The lady said my DOB was entered wrong in their wage records from my last employer. She fixed it and now I could finish my application. Just FYI for anyone dealing with this stupid error!

That's awesome! Thanks for letting us know it worked. I think I'm going to try that tomorrow if I still can't get through by calling directly.

One last tip that might save you some time: take screenshots of the error message and have your ID ready when you do reach someone. They'll need to verify your identity before they can fix anything in the system. I'd also recommend preparing a list of all previous employers from the last 18 months with correct start/end dates, as they might ask for this information while they have you on the phone.

Great suggestion about the screenshots and having my employment info ready! I'll definitely do that.

UPDATE: Finally got this resolved! For anyone who might face this issue in the future - the problem was that my previous employer had somehow entered my birth month and day switched around in their records (put 05/11 instead of 11/05). The UC agent was able to override the error and update my information correctly in the system. My application is now processing! Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.

So glad you got it figured out! That's such a weird error - who would think to check if the employer switched your birth month and day around? Thanks for posting the update, this will definitely help other people who run into the same problem. Congrats on getting your application moving forward!
