New York Unemployment application from Jan 25 - can't certify, getting 'not authorized' error
Filed unemployment benefits last month but still haven't heard anything back. When I try to log in to certify, I keep getting an error saying I'm not authorized. Really worried about missing out on backpay for these weeks. Anyone know what I should do about certifying for past weeks once this gets fixed?

Same exact thing happened to me. Took about 4 weeks before I could finally log in properly. Keep trying every day - one morning it just started working 🤷♀️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone using claimyr.com - they dial and wait on hold, then connect you to an agent when ones available. Costs $20 but totally worth it to get this sorted out. Heres a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

The whole authorization thing is a glitch in their system rn. Its happening to loads of people. You should document all your attempts to certify by taking screenshots of the error messages just in case

Listen up - heres what you need to do: First, document EVERYTHING. Save screenshots of your application confirmation and all error messages. Keep a log of when you try to certify. Second, you need to talk to a real person asap. The fastest way is using claimyr.com - they'll get you through to an agent. Yes it costs money but its better than waiting weeks. Third, once you get through, explain you've been trying to certify and getting authorization errors. They can backdate your claim and help you certify for missed weeks. Dont wait around hoping it fixes itself. The longer you wait the more complicated it gets. I learned this the hard way 😩
