New York Unemployment Payment Stuck on Pending Status After Approval Letter
I got my approval letter last week but my payment status still shows pending in the system. Been certifying every week but no money yet. Anyone know if I'll still get paid for these weeks or am I doing something wrong? Getting worried since bills are coming up.

Same thing happened to me. Took about 3 weeks after getting the letter for the money to actually show up. Keep certifying and you should be good. The system is just slow af rn

I finally got through to someone using claimyr.com - paid $20 but worth it cause they got me connected to an agent who fixed my pending status right away. Check out their demo video here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

This is a common issue with NY unemployment rn their systems are backed up. Double check that your direct deposit info is correct in your account settings that was my holdup

Look heres what you need to do: 1. Keep certifying every week no matter what 2. Make sure your ID.me verification is complete 3. Check that your payment method is set up correctly 4. If still pending after a week, you NEED to talk to an agent Best way to reach them is either super early morning (7:30am) or use claimyr.com to get through. The pending status usually means they need to verify something on their end. Agent can usually fix it in 5 mins once you get through. When you do get paid, you'll get all your back weeks at once. Just document everything and take screenshots of your certifications just in case. Hope this helps! 👊

Had the exact same issue last month! Payment was stuck on pending for 2 weeks after my approval letter. Turns out there was a flag on my account that needed manual review. Once I got through to an agent they cleared it immediately and I got all my backpay within 3 days. The key is persistence - keep calling and don't give up. Also make sure you're still certifying every week even while it's pending, otherwise you'll miss out on those weeks. The system is definitely overwhelmed right now but you'll get your money eventually!

•@Isabella Costa thanks for sharing your experience! 2 weeks sounds about right from what everyone s'saying. did you have to provide any additional documents when they cleared the flag or was it just something on their end?

I went through this exact same thing last month! My payment was stuck on pending for almost 3 weeks after getting my approval letter. What finally worked for me was calling the automated line and selecting option 1, then 3, then 0 to get to a human. Had to call about 50 times over 2 days but finally got through. The agent told me there was a "system hold" on my account that needed to be manually released - took her literally 2 minutes to fix it. Got all my backpay deposited the next business day. Keep certifying weekly no matter what and definitely keep trying to call. It's frustrating but you will get your money!

•@Keisha Jackson that s'so helpful! gonna try that exact sequence when I call tomorrow. 50 times sounds brutal but worth it if it actually works. did you call at any specific time of day or just kept trying throughout?

Just wanted to add my experience to help others going through this. I had the same pending issue for about 10 days after my approval letter. What worked for me was checking my account settings thoroughly - turns out my bank had updated my account number recently and I forgot to update it in the system. Once I fixed that, payment came through in 2 days with all the back weeks included. Also seconding what others said about calling early morning (around 7:45am worked best for me) - way less busy than later in the day. Don't stress too much, the money will come as long as you keep certifying and your info is correct! 💪

•@Omar Fawzi that s'a great point about checking bank info! I didn t'even think about that. My bank actually sent me a new debit card last month so maybe that affected something. Gonna double check all my payment details before I start calling tomorrow. Thanks for the tip about 7:45am too - definitely gonna try that time slot 🙏
