Confused about waiting week on unemployment payment history - nothing showing up after 04/28/2024 despite certifying for a month
Been waiting on my unemployment payments and my payment history only shows zeros. Really need help figuring out how many weeks of back pay I'm owed. I just checked my payment screen again and I'm so frustrated. Here's what it shows: Payment History Week Total Net Effective Release Ending Amount Amount Days Date 04/28/2024 $0.00 $0.00 Waitin 4 05/03/2024 week It's just showing a waiting week for the week ending 04/28/2024 with $0.00 in both Total Amount and Net Amount columns. It shows "Effective Days: 4" and a "Release Date" of 05/03/2024. And then underneath that it just says "Unemployment Insurance Terms" but nothing else helpful. I've been certifying religiously every week for over a month now, but this is the only thing showing up in my payment history. Shouldn't I be seeing entries for each week I've certified with actual payment amounts? Or at least something showing that they're pending? Do they owe me backpay from when I first applied? Is the waiting week supposed to be unpaid? And why is nothing else showing up after that waiting week? I'm getting really desperate for this money and have no idea how to interpret this screen or how to figure out when I might actually get paid. Anyone know how to figure this out?

You gotta count from your effective date of claim. Each week after your waiting week should be a payment, unless you didn't certify or had earnings to report.

I was stuck like this too! Finally got through using claimyr.com - they got me connected to an agent who fixed all my back payments. Costs $20 but was worth every penny. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Look im gonna give you the complete rundown on this because I went through it myself. First, check your effective claim date - thats when your claim starts. Then subtract your waiting week. After that, count every week you properly certified. Each one should be a payment unless you reported earnings or had an issue. If amounts show $0, its usually because: - Your claim is under review - Identity verification pending - You have a hold on your account - System glitch Best solution is getting an agent on the phone. Save yourself the headache and use claimyr.com - they'll get you through to someone who can see exactly whats going on and fix it. Otherwise you'll be calling hundreds of times. Also make sure you: - Keep certifying every week - Document everything - Screenshot your payment history - Save any correspondence Hope this helps! 💯

Pro tip: take screenshots of everything and keep a spreadsheet. NY unemployment system is notorious for glitches

Hey! I went through the exact same thing last month. That waiting week showing $0 is normal - it's unpaid by design. The real issue is why nothing else is showing up after 04/28. Check if you have any pending issues under "Claim Status" - could be identity verification, work search requirements, or they need more info. Also make sure you're certifying on the right days (usually Sunday-Tuesday). If everything looks clean on your end, definitely call or use one of those callback services people mentioned. Don't stop certifying though - you'll lose those weeks if you do! Keep records of everything in case you need to prove you were certifying.
