NYS Department of Labor error x57 unemployment claim - what does this mean?

I've been trying to file my weekly unemployment claim for the past two days and keep getting this 'error x57' message that pops up right when I hit submit. The system just kicks me back to the main page without any explanation of what's wrong. I've tried different browsers and even my phone but same thing happens. Has anyone seen this error x57 before? I'm supposed to file by Sunday and getting really stressed about missing the deadline.

ugh yes this happened to me last month! so frustrating when the system just gives you random error codes with no explanation

Did you figure out what was causing it? I'm worried I'm going to lose my benefits if I can't get this sorted out.

Error x57 usually means there's a validation issue with your weekly claim submission. Check if you've answered all the required questions completely - sometimes even leaving one field blank can trigger this error. Also make sure you're not trying to certify outside of your designated filing window. The NYS Department of Labor system is pretty strict about the certification schedule.

I double checked everything and all fields are filled out. My certification window is Sunday through Tuesday so I should be fine on timing.

If all your answers look correct, the error might be related to a flag on your account that needs manual review. Sometimes the system blocks certification when there's an adjudication issue or job search requirement that hasn't been satisfied.

This is exactly why I ended up using Claimyr to get through to someone at NYS Department of Labor. I was getting weird error messages for weeks and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Their site is claimyr.com and they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Basically they call the unemployment office for you and get you connected to an actual person who can look at your account and tell you what's causing the error.

How much does something like that cost? Seems like we shouldn't have to pay extra just to talk to someone about our own benefits.

I get the frustration but honestly after spending hours trying to get through on my own it was worth it to me. The rep was able to see that my account had a work search flag that wasn't showing up anywhere on my end.

THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR SYSTEM IS SUCH GARBAGE!!! I've been dealing with random errors for months and nobody can ever give you a straight answer about what's wrong. Error codes that don't mean anything, websites that crash constantly, phone lines that hang up on you automatically.

I feel you on this. The whole system seems designed to make it as hard as possible to actually get your benefits.

Try logging out completely and clearing your browser cache before trying again. Sometimes the system gets confused if you've been logged in for too long or if there are old session cookies.

Just tried this and still getting the same error x57. Starting to think there might be something wrong with my account specifically.
