NYDOL unemployment claim filed in November - still no updates. Help!
Hey everyone, I filed my unemployment claim back in November and I'm still waiting to hear back. It's been a few months now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else been waiting this long? Any tips on how to check the status or speed things up?

Ugh, welcome to the club. I filed mine in October and still crickets. The system is so backed up its ridiculous. Have you tried calling them? Good luck getting through tho 🙄

•Calling is a nightmare. I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected. 🤬

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins that way

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•It took about an hour and a half, but I didnt have to sit there listening to hold music. Just got a call when an agent was ready

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without sending a notification. Worth a shot!

I'm in the same boat, filed in December. This whole process is so frustrating. I've heard they're super backlogged because of all the fraud cases they're dealing with. Doesn't make the wait any easier tho 😫

•Apparently theres been a ton of scammers filing fake claims. Its making it harder for legit claims to get processed

Here's what I've learned after dealing with NYDOL for months: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Check your online account regularly for updates. 3. Make sure all your documents are in order and uploaded. 4. If you can, reach out to your local state representative. They sometimes can help push things along. 5. Join Facebook groups for NY unemployment. Lots of good info there. 6. Be prepared for long wait times. The system is overwhelmed. 7. Double-check that you've completed all required certifications. Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but keep at it!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but I've heard it can sometimes get faster attention.
