NYDOL adjudication closed, no decision info received. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my unemployment claim. The adjudication closed but I haven't received any information about the decision. Has anyone else experienced this? I've been trying to get through to the DOL for days now with no luck. It's so frustrating! Any advice on what to do next or how to actually speak with someone there?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was in the same boat last month. It's like they purposely make it impossible to reach a human being. Have you tried calling right when they open? That sometimes worked for me.

Yeah, I've tried that a few times. No luck so far 😞 It's either busy signals or being on hold forever only to get disconnected.

Pro tip: call at 7:55 AM and keep redialing until you get through. It's annoying af but it worked for me eventually.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they garuantee you'll get through?

Sure! Basically, you choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and their system starts calling. It navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person answers, it calls your phone and connects you. They don't guarantee it'll work first try, but they keep trying for 48 hours.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the decision there before sending anything out.

This happened to me too! Turns out they had the wrong mailing address on file. Double-check all your contact info is correct in the system.

Good idea, I'll def check that. Thanks!

The DOL is so backed up rn its not even funny. I've been waiting 3 months for a decision on my claim. The whole system needs an overhaul 🤮

3 months?! That's insane. How are people supposed to survive while waiting that long?

ikr? It's a total clown show 🤡 I've had to borrow money from family just to get by.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep calling every day. Be persistent. 2. Check your online account for updates regularly. 3. Send a secure message through the portal explaining your situation. 4. If possible, visit a local DOL office in person. 5. Contact your state representative or senator's office. They can sometimes help expedite things. 6. Document everything: dates you called, who you spoke to, what was said. 7. If you receive any correspondence, respond immediately. 8. Consider reaching out to local legal aid if you're really stuck. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it gets their attention faster than calls or emails.

What year is it, 1995? 🤣 But for real, if it works, it works!

I'm telling you, the best way to get through is to call your local assemblyperson's office. They have direct lines to DOL and can often get things moving.

This might sound crazy, but try tweeting at the DOL. I did that out of frustration and surprisingly got a response pretty quickly.

Social media FTW! 🙌 Public shaming works wonders sometimes lol

I went through the exact same thing last year! The adjudication closed with radio silence for almost 2 weeks. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my decision letter got stuck in processing. What finally worked for me was calling the technical support line instead of the regular claims line - they have a separate number for system issues. The wait was still brutal but at least I got through. Also, make sure you're checking your online account AND the separate "correspondence" section - sometimes documents show up there first before being mailed. Don't lose hope, it will get resolved eventually!

Wait, there's a separate technical support line?! @Connor O'Neill do you happen to remember what that number was? I've been calling the main claims line this whole time and getting nowhere. Also thanks for the tip about the correspondence section - I totally missed that!
