NY unemployment system keeps rejecting my login info after claim was completed
Something frustrating is happening with my unemployment account. I successfully completed my claim last week with a specialist using my social and PIN, but now when I try to log in to check my status, the system keeps telling me my information doesn't match. I've triple-checked everything - typing slowly, making sure caps lock is off, everything. Been trying for 3 days straight and still can't access my account. Has this happened to anyone else? Starting to worry something's wrong with my claim.

Same thing was happening to me last month! The system is completely broken. I was about to lose my mind after trying like 20 times. Try logging in at a weird time like 5am - sometimes the system works better when fewer people are on it.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll try early morning tomorrow. Did your issue eventually resolve itself or did you have to do something specific?

•It randomly started working again after like 5 days. The whole system is held together with duct tape and prayers 🤣

•I've noticed this too. 4:30-6am is like the golden hour for NY unemployment site. Less traffic = less glitches.

This exact problem was driving me insane but I found a solution! I used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they helped me get connected to an actual person on the phone. Talking to a real agent was the only way I could get this fixed - turns out there was some weird flag on my account. Best money I've ever spent to finally get my benefits paid quickly. Check out this video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•yeah right, another 'miracle solution'... does this actually work or is it just another scam? 🙄

•Not a scam at all! I was super skeptical too but was desperate after trying for 2 weeks. They just help you skip the phone queue and get you a callback when there's an agent available. Talking to the agent got my account unlocked in 10 minutes.

•I actually used claimyr.com last week when my claim was pending for over a month. Got a callback in about an hour and the agent fixed everything. My payment came through the next day!

When was the last time you reset your pin? Sometimes the system kinda forces a reset but doesnt tell you. Try calling the automated line and see if it lets you reset your pin. Worked for me.

The NY unemployment site is literally the worst government website I've ever used. And thats saying something 💀 If ur social and pin worked with a specialist but not online, its probably a glitch in their system. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser/device.

•Incognito mode sometimes works too! The site has so many cookies and tracking issues.

•Tried Chrome, Firefox, and even my phone. Same error message every time 😭

I've dealt with this exact problem and many others during my unemployment journey. Here's what I've learned works: First, try the basics: - Clear your browser cache and cookies - Try a different browser entirely - Check if you're using the correct website (ny.gov/unemployment not any other variations) - Try incognito/private browsing mode - Wait 24 hours and try again (sometimes their system does overnight updates) If those don't work: - Call the automated phone system to reset your PIN (sometimes pins expire without notification) - Try logging in during off-peak hours (early morning 4-6am or late evening after 8pm) - Check if your keyboard has num lock on if entering PIN with number pad If STILL nothing works, you absolutely need to speak with a live agent. Getting through on the phone is nearly impossible with regular calls. The service that finally worked for me was claimyr.com - they get you a callback with a live agent who can check what's happening with your account. In my case, there was a security flag on my account that only an agent could remove. Good luck! The system is frustrating but getting to a live person is the key when technology fails.

•Thank you so much for all this detail! I've tried most of the browser solutions already. Going to try resetting my PIN through the phone system tonight, and if that doesn't work, I'll check out claimyr. Really appreciate it!

THE EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!! Turned out someone had filed a fraudulent claim using my information. You need to get on the phone with them ASAP to get it sorted out. It took me over a month to get it fixed because I couldn't get through on the phones.

•Oh no, that's terrifying. How did you eventually get through to them?

•I finally used claimyr.com after wasting weeks trying to call myself. Got connected to an agent who confirmed someone had tried using my SSN. Had to go through their fraud department but eventually got it straightened out.

•Identity theft with unemployment is HUGE right now. My neighbor and two coworkers all had fake claims filed. Total nightmare to fix.

the ny unemployment system has been extra glitchy the past month. i work in IT and my theory is they're doing updates to fight all the fraud but breaking the regular system in the process

This is actually a known issue right now! There was a post on the official NYSDOL twitter last week about login problems for some users. They're supposedly fixing it but who knows when that'll actually happen 🙄

•Can confirm. My sister works for NY gov (not unemployment) and said they're having major system issues this month.

Have you tried calling the technical support line? Different from the regular unemployment line. 888-209-8124 then press 1 for PIN issues. Sometimes they can reset things from their end.

•I tried that number but was on hold for 2+ hours and then the call dropped 😩

•Ugh that's the worst. NY unemployment phones are basically useless. I'd try claimyr if you can't get through - thats what finally worked for me.

this happened to my roommate and it turned out their account was locked because of too many failed login attempts (probably not even by them). you HAVE to talk to someone to get it unlocked

•THIS!!! My account got locked after only 3 attempts when I mistyped my SSN. Security theater at its finest 🤡
