How to get my NY unemployment payment history for tax purposes?
I need to get my payment history from when I was on unemployment last year. I'm doing my taxes and need to verify the exact amount I received. I've tried logging into my account but keep getting confused with the options. When I go to the payment history section, it only shows the last few months but I need the full year of 2023. Is there a way to download or print the entire payment history? Has anyone done this successfully? The IRS is asking for proof of all payments and I just want to make sure I'm reporting the correct amount on my taxes.

Log into your account and go to "Payment History" on the left side of the dashboard. You can select the date range for all of 2023 and hit apply. Then there should be a print button at the top (looks like a little printer icon). That will give you everything you need for taxes. I did mine last week and it worked fine.

•Omg thank you! I missed the date range option completely. I was only seeing the default view with recent payments.

•Try a different browser? It was weird on Chrome for me but worked fine on Firefox.

After weeks of trying to get someone on the phone to help me with a similar issue, I finally found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual human at unemployment. The agent walked me through getting my full payment history and even emailed me a copy. Best money I ever spent to get this resolved quickly! Check them out at claimyr.com or watch this video that explains how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•is this actually real? sounds too good to be true after all the hours I've spent on hold 🙄

•100% real. I was super skeptical too but I was desperate after trying for 3 weeks to get through. They basically stay on hold for you then call you when they get a real person. They saved me literal hours of my life.

•wait hold up - does this actually work or is it just the usual BS? I've been on hold with NY unemployment for like 2 hours every day this week

•It worked for me! Got a callback within 2 hours when I had been trying for days on my own. The agent fixed my issue right away.

•hmm I've been burned by so many of these 'services' before... what makes this different?

•They don't promise to fix your claim or anything - they just get you connected to a real agent. That's what made it worth it for me, just getting past the hold time nightmare.

They should have sent you a 1099-G form that shows the total unemployment compensation you received in 2023. Check your mail or your online account documents section. That's what you need for taxes, not the payment history.

•I never got mine in the mail and can't find it in my account. That's why I'm trying to get the payment history as backup.

•You can request a duplicate 1099-G online or by calling them. That's the official document the IRS wants.

The NY unemployment system is BEYOND BROKEN. I spent 5 hours going in circles trying to get the same info. Eventually I had to go physically to a job center with ID and they printed it out for me. Total waste of time but it worked.

•Which job center did you go to? Might have to do this myself if I can't get it online.

•I went to the one in downtown Brooklyn. Bring ID and your claim info. And patience...lots of patience lol

Here's a comprehensive guide for anyone dealing with NY unemployment payment history issues: First, try the online portal - log in at labor.ny.gov and navigate to your payment history section. You can adjust the date range to show all of 2023, then use the print function. If that doesn't work, here are your options: - Request your 1099-G form (the official tax document) through your online account or by calling - Use the "Message" feature in your account to specifically request your payment history - Call the automated telephone system at 888-581-5812 and follow prompts for payment history - If all else fails, visiting a career center in person with ID is a last resort For the fastest resolution when calling, I highly recommend using claimyr.com - they'll get you connected to an agent without the hours-long hold times. Talking to a live agent is ultimately the best way to get exactly what you need for tax purposes. And remember to keep any documents they send you for at least 3 years in case of audit!

Anyone know if we can get this info if our claim is closed? Mine ended in October and now I cant access anything in my account.

Pro tip: take screenshots of EVERYTHING when you are collecting unemployment. Payment confirmations, claim certifications, all of it. NY unemployment has a talent for making things disappear when you need them most 🤡

•THIS!!! Learned this the hard way. Screenshots saved me when they tried saying I was overpaid.

•Also save the emails they send you. I had to forward old confirmation emails as proof when my payment history magically disappeared.

Call them. That's what I had to do. The website is useless for anything beyond basic stuff.

•Yeah but calling means being on hold for 3 hours if they even pick up at all

•Try using claimyr.com - they'll wait on hold and call you when they get a real person. Saved me hours of frustration!
