How to print out unemployment pay stubs from NYS Department of Labor online account?

I've been getting my unemployment payments direct deposited but now I need actual pay stubs for a rental application. I can see my payment history when I log into my ny.gov account but I can't figure out how to print them out in a format that looks official. The landlord wants something that shows the payment amounts and dates clearly. Has anyone been able to print these from the NYS Department of Labor website? I'm looking at my payment history but there's no obvious print button.

You need to go to the 'Payment History' section in your online account, then look for 'View Payment Details' next to each payment. From there you should see a printer icon or 'Print Statement' option. Make sure you're viewing the full details page, not just the summary.

I see the payment history but when I click on individual payments it just shows the amount and date. No print option that I can find.

i had this same problem last month!! you have to go to the main menu and look for something called 'benefit payment statement' or 'payment verification' - its not under payment history where you'd think it would be

Thank you! I'll look for that section. The website navigation is so confusing.

The NYS Department of Labor payment statements are located under 'Forms and Documents' in your online account. You can generate a PDF that shows all your unemployment payments for a specific time period. This will include payment dates, amounts, and any deductions. You can also request an official letter verifying your benefits if you need something more formal for the rental application.

Do you know if there's a way to get statements mailed instead? I'm having trouble with the website and need these ASAP.

You can call the NYS Department of Labor customer service line to request mailed statements, but it usually takes 7-10 business days. If you need them faster, you might want to try using a service like Claimyr (claimyr.com) to help you get through to an agent quicker - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works.

Same experience here. The phone system is impossible.

I just went through this process last week! Here's what worked for me: Log into your NY.gov account, go to "Unemployment Services" then look for "Payment History" but don't click on individual payments. Instead, look for a link that says "Generate Payment Summary" or "Print Payment Record" - it's usually at the top or bottom of the payment history page. This will create a PDF with all your payment details in an official format that landlords typically accept. The PDF includes payment dates, amounts, and the NYS DOL letterhead which makes it look official. If you still can't find it, try looking under "My Documents" or "Available Forms" sections.

This is super helpful! I've been struggling with the same issue and couldn't find that "Generate Payment Summary" option. Just to clarify - when you say it's at the top or bottom of the payment history page, do you mean it's like a button or just text? I'm worried I might be missing it because the page layout is so cluttered. Also, did the PDF you generated include your SSN or other sensitive info that you had to redact before giving it to your landlord?

@Fatima Al-Qasimi The Generate "Payment Summary appears" as a blue button - it s'easy to miss because it blends in with other links on the page. And yes, the PDF does include your full SSN, so you ll'definitely want to redact that before sharing with landlords. I used a PDF editor to black out the SSN but kept everything else visible. Most landlords just need to see the payment amounts and dates anyway. Also worth noting that the generated PDF is only available for the current benefit year, so if you need older records you might have to call.

Another option that worked for me when the website was acting up - you can actually download your entire payment history as a CSV file from the "Reports" section. While it's not as pretty as the official PDF, it shows all the same information (dates, amounts, benefit year, etc.) and you can open it in Excel to format it nicely before printing. I've had landlords accept this format before, especially when I included a screenshot of my account dashboard showing my name and the NYS DOL logo. Just make sure to remove your SSN from any columns if it appears. This might be a good backup option if you can't get the official payment summary to work.

That's a great workaround! I never thought about using the CSV download from Reports. For anyone else trying this method - when you format it in Excel, you can add a header with something like "NYS Department of Labor Unemployment Payment History" and include your name and the date range to make it look more official. I'd also suggest adding a note explaining that this is an official record downloaded from your NY.gov account. Some landlords are more tech-savvy and actually prefer spreadsheet formats because they can easily verify the total amounts.

I had this exact same issue a few months ago! What finally worked for me was logging into the NY.gov portal and going to the "Unemployment Insurance" section, then clicking on "Benefit Payment Information" (not Payment History). From there, there's a small link that says "View/Print Benefit Payment Summary" - it's kind of hidden in the menu on the left side. This generates an official-looking document with the NYS DOL letterhead that shows all your payment dates, amounts, and benefit year. The format is much cleaner than trying to print individual payment records. Just a heads up though - you might need to disable your browser's pop-up blocker for the PDF to generate properly. Hope this helps!

This is exactly what I was looking for! I found that "View/Print Benefit Payment Summary" link you mentioned and it worked perfectly. The PDF it generated looks very official with the NYS DOL header and all my payment details formatted clearly. Thanks for the tip about disabling the pop-up blocker too - that was definitely necessary. The document shows everything my landlord requested: payment dates, amounts, and my benefit period. Much better than trying to cobble something together from the regular payment history page!

If you're still having trouble finding the right section, try this step-by-step: 1) Log into ny.gov, 2) Click "Unemployment Services", 3) Look for "Online Services" menu, 4) Click "View and Maintain Account Information", 5) Then "Monetary Determinations and Payment Information". There should be a "Payment Summary" option that creates a printable PDF with official formatting. I know the navigation is confusing - I probably clicked through a dozen different menus before I found it! The key is looking for anything that says "summary" or "statement" rather than just "history". Also, if you need something really official-looking, you can request a "Benefit Verification Letter" which some landlords prefer over payment stubs.
