Where to find and print NY unemployment payment history for tax purposes?

Does anyone know how I can print out my complete NY unemployment payment history? I need it for my taxes and can't seem to find where to download it on the website. I've been poking around the dashboard for 20 minutes and I'm getting frustrated. Is there a specific section I should be looking in or do I need to call them directly? Thanks for any help!

You can access your payment history by logging into your NY.gov account, then navigating to the Unemployment Insurance section. Once there, look for the 'Payment History' tab or 'View Payment History' button. You should be able to see all your payments listed by date. There's usually a 'Print' option at the top or bottom of the page - if not, you can use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P). For tax purposes, you might also want to look for the 1099-G form which summarizes all your unemployment benefits for the tax year - that's usually in a separate section called 'Tax Forms' or 'My Documents'.

Thank you! I'll look for the Payment History tab. I completely missed that somehow. Do you know if the 1099-G will show all the same information or should I print both?

Thanks! Glad to hear it's easy. I'll try again.

For exact tax documentation, you specifically need the 1099-G form, not just the payment history. The 1099-G is what you'll use for filing taxes as it has the official record of unemployment benefits paid and taxes withheld. To access it: 1. Log into your NY.gov account 2. Navigate to My Online Services 3. Select Unemployment Insurance 4. Look for 'Get Your 1099-G' or 'Tax Forms' 5. You can view and print the 1099-G from there Keep in mind the 2025 1099-G forms for the 2024 tax year should be available by January 31, 2025. If you need older forms, they should be available in the same section.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! This is exactly what I needed. I'll look for the 1099-G since that's what I really need for taxes.

Omg I spent TWO HOURS trying to find this on the website last month!!! The NY unemployment site is SO confusing. I ended up having to call them because the payment history option wasn't showing up for me for some reason. Waited on hold forever and then the call dropped!!! I nearly threw my phone across the room. 😡

Same experience here. Their website navigation is terrible - feels like it was designed in 2003 and never updated. I gave up trying to find my payment history online after clicking through endless menus.

When I needed my payment history last month, I couldn't get through on the phone after trying for days. I found this service called Claimyr that got me connected to an actual NYSDOL agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours on hold. The agent helped me access my payment history and explained exactly how to download and print it for my records. Saved me so much frustration! If you're still having trouble after trying the online methods, check out their demo at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE or go to claimyr.com - definitely worth it if you're in a hurry or the website isn't showing what you need.

Does that actually work? I've been trying to reach someone about my payment history for weeks! Might try this if I can't figure out the website stuff.

Yeah, it really worked for me. The agent I spoke with was able to see all my payment info and helped me navigate to the right page to print it myself for future reference. Much better than the constant busy signals I was getting before.

u dont need 2 print anything, just download the PDF and save it. less paper waste👍

Good point about saving paper! I'll probably just download and save the PDF.

I had to get my payment history for an apartment application last year and I remember there being two different places to find payment info. One showed recent payments but for the complete history I had to click somewhere else. Can't remember exactly where though sorry! Maybe under account settings?

Just to clarify for everyone - there are two different things that might be useful: 1) Payment History - shows all individual payments, dates, and amounts (good for tracking when you got paid) 2) 1099-G Tax Form - the official document you need for tax filing that shows total benefits received and taxes withheld For tax purposes, you primarily need the 1099-G, but the payment history can be helpful to verify everything is correct. Both can be accessed through your NY.gov account in the UI section, though sometimes in different subsections depending on how recently you received benefits.

Thank you for explaining the difference! I'll download both to make sure everything matches up for my taxes.

Did anyone else notice their payment history doesn't match their 1099-G? Mine was off by about $340 and it took FOREVER to get it fixed. Make sure you check both documents!!

This is actually a common issue. The discrepancy usually happens when a payment was processed at the very end of December but didn't hit your account until January, or if there were adjustments/overpayment recoveries. Always good advice to cross-check both documents.

Update: I found it! For anyone else looking, after you log in to your NY.gov account and go to Unemployment Services, there's a section on the left menu called "Payment History." From there you can see all payments and print/save as PDF. The 1099-G was under a separate tab called "Tax Forms" just like you all mentioned. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great! Glad you found it. Make sure to save copies for your records in case you need them later.

Awesome that you got it sorted out! For future reference, I always bookmark the direct links to both the Payment History and Tax Forms sections after logging in - saves me from having to navigate through all those menus every time. The NY unemployment website really could use better organization, but at least once you know where everything is, it's pretty straightforward.

That's a smart tip about bookmarking the direct links! I'll definitely do that once I'm logged in. You're so right about the website organization - it feels like they assume everyone already knows exactly where everything is located. At least this thread will help other people who get stuck like I did!

Pro tip for everyone struggling with the NY unemployment website - if you're using an older browser or have strict privacy settings, some of the navigation elements might not load properly. I had this issue where the Payment History section wasn't showing up at all until I switched to Chrome and disabled my ad blocker temporarily. Also, make sure you're fully logged out and back in if you've been on the site for a while - sometimes the session gets wonky and certain pages won't display correctly. The website definitely has its quirks but these tricks usually help when things aren't working as expected!

This is super helpful! I've been having issues with certain sections not loading properly and never thought it could be a browser compatibility thing. I'm usually pretty stubborn about using Firefox but might need to switch to Chrome for this. The session timeout issue makes total sense too - I've definitely been logged in for hours trying to figure this out. Thanks for the technical troubleshooting tips!

Just wanted to add that if you're still having trouble finding these documents, you can also request them by mail if needed. I had to do this once when the website was down for maintenance during tax season. You can call the NYSDOL customer service line and request they mail you a paper copy of your 1099-G and payment history - it takes about 7-10 business days to arrive, but it's a good backup option if you're running into technical issues with the website or need official hard copies for your records.

That's really good to know about the mail option! I didn't realize you could request paper copies if the website isn't cooperating. 7-10 business days isn't too bad if you're planning ahead for tax season. Do you know if there's a fee for getting the documents mailed, or is it free? This could be a lifesaver for people who are having persistent technical issues or don't have reliable internet access.
