How long for NYS Department of Labor unemployment direct deposit to hit my account?
I just certified my weekly claim on Sunday and it shows as processed on my.ny.gov. This is my second week getting payments and I'm still trying to figure out the timing. My first payment took forever but I think that was because of the initial setup. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the direct deposit to actually show up in your bank account after you certify? I'm with Chase if that makes any difference. Really need to know so I can plan when to pay my rent.

Usually takes 2-3 business days after your weekly claim shows as processed. Since you certified Sunday, you should see it by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. The first payment always takes longer because they have to verify your banking info, but subsequent payments are much faster.

•That's what I was hoping to hear! Wednesday would be perfect timing for me.

Wait I'm confused - I thought you had to wait until Monday to certify? I've been waiting until Monday every week because that's what someone told me at the beginning.

•You can certify starting Sunday at 12:01 AM for the previous week. Most people do it Sunday night or Monday morning, but Sunday is fine and actually gets you paid a day earlier.

The NYS Department of Labor system is so frustrating with timing. I've been trying to get through to them for days to ask about a payment that got delayed and can't reach anyone. The phone lines are constantly busy and the online chat never works.

•I had the same problem reaching NYS Department of Labor agents until I found claimyr.com. They have a service that gets you through to actual agents automatically - saved me hours of calling. There's a demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Honestly worth it when you need to resolve payment issues.

Same boat here with the timing question. My payment status shows 'issued' but nothing in my account yet. It's been 2 days since it showed issued.

•If it shows 'issued' that means NYS Department of Labor has sent the payment to your bank. Should be there within 24-48 hours max. Different banks process at different times though.

Just want to add that if you're new to UI benefits, the first few payments can be unpredictable timing-wise. After about a month it becomes very regular. Also make sure your bank account info is exactly right in the system because even small errors can delay everything.
