How long does it take to get unemployment payment after requesting payment from NYS Department of Labor?
I just completed my weekly claim certification on the NYS Department of Labor website Sunday night and I'm wondering how long it usually takes to actually receive the payment? This is my second week claiming and my first payment took 4 days to hit my bank account but I'm not sure if that's normal. I have direct deposit set up through my.ny.gov. Does anyone know the typical timeline from when you request payment to when it shows up in your account?

Usually takes 2-3 business days if you file your weekly claim by Sunday night. Tuesday-Wednesday is pretty standard for direct deposit. The first payment sometimes takes longer because they're setting up your account in the system.
