How long for NY unemployment to release funds after ID.me verification?
I just completed the ID.me verification process for my NY unemployment claim. The system flagged my account for identity verification last week and I finally got through the video call yesterday. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for them to process this and release my payments? It's been 3 weeks since my last payment and I'm getting really anxious. Bills are piling up! Has anyone gone through this recently?

In most cases, it takes between 3-10 business days for NYSDOL to process your ID.me verification and release funds, but it can vary depending on their current workload. Make sure you completed both the ID.me verification AND checked that your NY.gov account shows it as completed. Sometimes there's a disconnect between the two systems that causes delays.

•Thanks for the info. The ID.me side definitely shows completed with a green checkmark, but when I log into my NY.gov account it still says "pending identity verification" under my claim status. Is that normal?

Has anyone else noticed that the waiting time has gotten worse recently?? I did my ID.me verification THREE TIMES because the system kept saying it wasn't received!!! Each time I had to wait in the video call queue for like 2 hours!!! This is ridiculous and I'm about to lose my apartment!!!

•If your NY.gov account isn't updating after successful ID.me verification, there's a technical issue. You need to call and speak directly with a claims specialist who can manually verify and release your funds. The regular call center reps don't have access to fix this specific problem.

When I went through this in January, it took exactly 7 business days. The system updated on a Tuesday morning and the money hit my account the next day. Hope it works out for you soon!

I had the exact same problem last month where ID.me showed completed but my NY unemployment account was still pending verification. Tried calling for days but couldn't get through to anyone. Finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 20 minutes. They were able to see that my verification was complete on their end and manually released my payments. Money was in my account two days later. Check out their video to see how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - totally worth it when you're stuck in these situations.

Does anyone know if this will affect my future payments too?? Or is it just a one-time delay?? This whole system is such a JOKE!

•Once your identity is verified, future payments should process normally without additional verification steps, unless there are new issues with your claim. The delay only affects payments that were pending during the verification period. Those should be released as a lump sum once verification is complete.

UPDATE: I used the Claimyr service that someone recommended and actually got through to a real person! The agent confirmed my ID.me verification was received but hadn't been properly linked to my account. They fixed it on their end and said I should receive all my back payments within 3 business days. Such a relief!

•Glad it worked out. For anyone else reading this thread with similar issues, always ensure both systems (ID.me and NY.gov) show your verification as complete. If there's a discrepancy after 3-5 business days, you'll need to speak with a claims specialist directly to resolve it.
