Anyone actually getting paid on new ny unemployment claims filed in September?

I filed in mid-september and just got my first payment last week. It took almost 6 weeks for me. The system is super backed up right now from what I heard. If your claim shows approved you should get it eventually, but the wait is killing everyone.

Nope, been waiting since Sept 3rd. Website says everything's fine but no $$$ yet. This is beyond frustrating. I've started driving for uber just to make rent but I shouldn't have to do that when I'm approved for benefits!! Starting to think the whole system is designed to make us give up 😡

Filed sept 10, got first payment oct 22. Took over a month but it eventually came through. They also backpaid everything. Hang in there but definitely try to get someone on the phone.

Been waiting since Sept 7th. Called the automated line and it says my claim is "pending review" whatever that means. Anyone know how long the review process takes?

Same problem here. Applied Sept 12, been certifying every sunday without fail, but no payments. The stupid part is that there's no way to check what's wrong! My account doesn't show any issues, just says my weekly benefit amount and that I'm approved. Starting to wonder if the state is broke or something 👀

omg I thought it was just me!! Filed Sept 20, got the determination letter saying I was approved for $483/week, but haven't seen a PENNY. Called the automated line and it says everything's fine. This is insane - do they think we don't need to eat or pay rent while they get their act together??

if the money is showing as "processed" but you're not getting it, check that your direct deposit info is correct. my friend waited 5 weeks only to realize she had put one wrong digit in her account number 🤦‍♀️

Pro tip: call your state senator or assembly member's office! I was in the exact same situation, filed in September, nothing for weeks. Called my state senator's office and they have a dedicated person who deals with unemployment issues. They contacted NYSDOL on my behalf and within 3 days my claim was fixed. Their office said they're getting flooded with similar cases right now.

There's apparently a huge backlog of September claims. I called and finally got through after 2 hours on hold last week, and the rep told me they're dealing with a "processing delay" affecting thousands of claims. She didn't give a timeframe but said they're working through them in order. Not much help but at least explains why we're all in the same boat.

i filed sept 5, finally got my first payment oct 16. just keep certifying every week and eventually it'll come through with back pay. the system is a disaster but they do eventually pay.

this is wut i did to finally get paid: 1) certified every single week no matter what 2) called the main number 50+ times until i got thru to a human 3) found out there was a random flag on my account for "identity verification" even tho i already verified everything 4) had to upload my drivers license AGAIN 5) got all my backpay 3 days later the whole system is a joke but be persistent. they hoping you'll give up.

I literally just got my first payment today after filing Sept 4. No explanation for the delay, no communication, it just randomly showed up 7 weeks later. The system is completely broken.

Waiting since September 14th here. Called my ex-employer and found out they never responded to the DOL verification request, which is apparently holding up my claim. Now trying to get them to respond but they're dragging their feet. The whole system is ridiculous.

NOPE. Filed September 8, still nothing. Online account just says "processed" each week but my bank account says "$0" 🙃 I'm about to lose my apartment over this. Thanks NY unemployment!
