Keep an eye on your mailbox. Sometimes they send physical letters requesting additional information even when they have your email and phone number. Miss that letter and your claim sits in limbo. Also, check your spam folder daily!
i waiting 11 weeks last year. keep claiming. they will backpay you. the system is broken but it eventually works. hang in there bro 👊
yeah it sux man. if u absolutely need $ now try calling them with claimyr or contact ur state assembly person. sometimes they can speed things up
After struggling with ID.me for days (kept getting errors about my documents), I finally got through by using the video call option with a live representative. Waited about 2 hours but at least it worked. If the automated system gives you problems, definitely use the video call option.
According to the ny unemployment website, they're required by federal law to give you the OPTION of withholding, but they can't just start doing it without your consent. Sounds like a system error to me.
why would u NOT want them to withhold taxes? ur just setting urself up for a big tax bill next april... unemployment is taxable income 🤦♀️
try mailing a PHYSICAL LETTER to them. sounds crazy but my friend did this and got a call back within a week. something about paper mail triggers a different process in their system. make sure to include your claim ID and contact info obviously.
if u keep getting kicked off the phone, try using a landline if possible. cell service can drop for a split second and their system boots you. my success rate went wayyy up when i started using my parents landline.

yeah man welcome to the club 🤦♂️ this happened to me too. tried calling for weeks and getting the same bs automated message saying my claim was under review. Then I saw someone recommend claimyr.com on here, used it and finally got a real person. She told me my account had a fraud flag on it (even though I did nothing wrong) and that's why my backpay was stuck in review. She removed the flag while I was on the phone with her and my money showed up 3 days later. talking to an agent got my $ unlocked so fast.

•apparently their system automatically flags certain claims if anything looks 'unusual' - in my case it was because I moved during the claim period. but the agent said it happens all the time for stupid reasons and most are false flags

I have a theory that they do this on purpose to save money. If you make the process painful enough, some percentage of people will just give up. I waited 15 weeks for my backdated payments and had to threaten legal action before they finally processed it. The system is working exactly as designed - to be frustrating.
