Finally got through on NY unemployment after 2 weeks of calling nonstop

It's crazy how something as simple as filing a claim has become this epic battle. Literally felt like winning the lottery when someone finally answered!

Yep specifically for NY. I was stuck in the pending payments loop for almost a month. After the callback I got my money in 2 days.

The difference is it actually got me through to someone lol. I was ready to give up until I tried it. Not saying it's magic but saved me weeks of frustration

becuz they WANT it to be difficult. makes fewer people collect benefits = more $ they save. its deliberate 💯

Their systems just aren't built to handle the volume. Remember during covid when literally nobody could get through? It was a nightmare

Make sure EVERYTHING in your application is 100% accurate. Any small discrepancy and you'll end up in callback hell

Double check your employer info especially. That's what got me stuck in pending for weeks.

Yes you should get backpay for any weeks you couldn't certify due to technical issues. Make sure to explain that to the agent when you finally get through.

In theory yes, in practice sometimes they give you a hard time about it. Document EVERYTHING - dates/times you tried to certify, screenshots of errors, etc.

Just used Python with some simple automation. Happy to share the code but honestly it didn't help much. They've got some serious call filtering going on.

This is actually a known hack but kinda messed up to use it if you don't speak Spanish. Takes resources away from Spanish speakers who already have fewer options.

Yes they do count as income for Medicaid. Make sure you report it or you could have issues later.
