New York Unemployment keeps disconnecting calls even at 8am opening time
Need to complete my unemployment claim but getting nowhere. Been trying to call right when they open at 8am sharp but keep getting disconnected. Been trying for days now and its beyond frustrating. Anyone know how to actually get through to a real person?

same here been trying for 2 weeks straight. The system is completely broken, either get hung up on or that stupid automated message saying call volume to high try again later smh

Finally found a way to get through! Used this service called claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold for you then connects you when they get someone. Costs $20 but honestly worth every penny after weeks of trying myself. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Pro tip: try calling at exactly 8:01am, not 8:00am. The system updates at 8 and everyone calls then, causing crashes. That one minute makes a difference sometimes

LISTEN UP because I finally figured this whole thing out after dealing with it forever. Here's what you need to know: First, calling at 8am sharp is actually the worst time because everyone does it. Try these times instead: - 10:30am (right after morning rush) - 2:15pm (after lunch rush) - Thursday/Friday are usually better than Monday If you're still striking out, use claimyr.com - yeah it costs $20 but they handle the whole calling/waiting process and actually get through. Way better than losing your mind hitting redial. Also make sure you have all your docs ready when you do get through: - ID - Last employer info - Dates of employment - Separation reason Hope this helps someone cause I know how crazy making this process is!
