The specialist mentioned I should watch for a letter in the mail that will show my benefit amount if approved. Just wanted to share this for anyone who's stuck in the same situation. The system is definitely frustrating, but keep trying the phone number even if it disconnects you multiple times.

I used my desktop to go through the main process and then my phone for taking pictures of my drivers license and doing the facial recognition part. Made a HUGE difference. The system kept timing out when I tried to do everything on just my laptop. Some tips that helped me finally get through: put your license or passport on a dark background (I used a navy blue towel) when taking pics. For the facial recognition, make sure you're in a really bright room and turn your phone brightness all the way up. I was getting rejected for like 3 weeks until I figured this out. Apparently they tried filing multiple claims using my info in different states. Had to submit a ton of documentation (license, birth certificate, even utility bills) to prove I was actually me.
