Where's my IRS refund check? Delayed and need help tracking it down
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out where my check is. I've been waiting for a while now and I'm getting worried. Has anyone else had issues with their checks being delayed? Any advice on how to track it down or what I should do next?

Have you checked your tax transcript? That's usually the best way to see whats going on with your refund. You can access it online through the IRS website.

ā¢Thanks for the tip! I haven't looked at my transcript yet. How exactly do I find that on the IRS site?

ā¢No problem! Go to IRS.gov, look for 'Get Transcript Online' under the 'Get Your Tax Record' section. You'll need to create an account if you haven't already. Once you're in, you can view or download your transcript. Look for any codes or updates related to your refund.

Ugh, I feel you. The IRS has been a total 𤔠show lately. I waited 3 months for mine last year. Have you tried calling them?

ā¢I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's so frustrating! How did you manage to reach someone?

ā¢It's a nightmare, right? I had to call like 50 times before I got through. Try calling right when they open, that worked for me eventually.

Hey guys, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

ā¢I get it, but think about how much time you waste trying to get through. For me, it was worth every penny.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the IRS for years: ⢠Always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send them ⢠Use certified mail for important documents ⢠Check your transcript regularly (as mentioned above) ⢠If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting your local Taxpayer Advocate Service ⢠Sometimes, reaching out to your congressperson can help speed things up Hope this helps! The system is broken, but there are ways to navigate it if you're persistent.

ā¢Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try the Taxpayer Advocate Service if I can't get through on the phone.

Pro tip: if you filed electronically and chose direct deposit, it should come faster. If you did paper filing or requested a paper check, prepare to wait... and wait... and wait...

Anyone else notice how the IRS can take our money instantly but takes forever to give it back? š¤ Make it make sense!
