EDD Check Mailed? How to Check Status and Estimated Arrival Time

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out if my payment check has been mailed yet. I've been waiting for a while and I'm getting anxious. Has anyone else been in this situation? How long did it take for your check to arrive after it was supposedly sent out? Any tips on how to check the status or speed things up would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve payment check mailing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIzmZdhXKkM

I feel ya, OP. I was in the same boat last month. It took about 2 weeks for my check to arrive after they said it was mailed. The waiting game is brutal 😫

2 weeks?! Ugh, that's so long. Did you do anything to check on the status during that time?

0 coins

Nah, I just waited it out. Tried calling a few times but couldn't get through. The system's a mess rn 🤷‍♂️

Same here! 2 weeks seems to be the average. Hang in there, OP!

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call 🤔

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can confirm, I used it last week. Got through in about an hour instead of days of trying

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update the status there before the check actually arrives. Might give you a heads up!

Ugh, the whole system is so broken. I've been waiting for my check for over a month now. Called like 50 times and can't get through. This is ridiculous! 😡

Preach! 👏 The government needs to get its act together. We're suffering while they can't even mail a check properly

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Checks are typically mailed within 24-48 hours after the payment is processed. 2. Standard mail can take 3-5 business days, but with current delays, it's more like 7-10 days. 3. You can check your claim status online, but it's not always up to date. 4. If it's been more than 14 days, you should definitely try to contact them. 5. Keep an eye on your informed delivery from USPS if you have that set up. 6. Sometimes checks get lost in the mail. If it's been too long, you might need to request a replacement. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP!

Has anyone tried going to the local office in person? wondering if that might be faster than waiting for the mail

0 coins

I tried that last month. Waited in line for 3 hours only to be told they couldn't help me in person and I had to call 🤡

Depends on your local office. Mine was actually helpful, but I've heard horror stories from others

Just a heads up, make sure you're checking the correct mailing address. I had my check sent to my old address by mistake and it was a whole ordeal to fix 😫

Anyone else think its crazy that were still using paper checks in 2023? like hello, ever heard of direct deposit? 🙄

For real! I've been saying this for years. The system is so outdated

Some ppl don't have bank accounts tho. Checks are still necessary for them

I'm dealing with the same thing right now! Been waiting about 10 days since they said it was "processed" and still nothing in the mail. The anxiety is real when you're depending on that money 😰 I've been obsessively checking my mailbox twice a day lol. Following this thread for any updates or tips from others who've been through this!

I totally feel you on the mailbox checking! 😅 I'm in the exact same boat - it's been 8 days for me since they said "processed" and I'm starting to get really worried. The waiting is the worst part, especially when you're counting on that money for bills and stuff. At least we're not alone in this mess!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! My payment was supposedly processed 6 days ago and I'm checking the mailbox like 3 times a day 📬 The stress is real when you need that money ASAP. I've been reading that some people have had success with the USPS Informed Delivery service - it shows you what mail is coming that day. Might help ease some of the anxiety of not knowing if today's the day. Also saw someone mention that if it goes past 10 business days, you can request a payment inquiry or even ask for a replacement check. Fingers crossed both our checks show up soon! 🤞

Thanks for mentioning the USPS Informed Delivery! I just signed up for that - never knew it existed. Hopefully it'll help me know when to expect it instead of this constant guessing game. The 10 business day rule is good to know too. I'm on day 6 so I'll give it a few more days before I start panicking completely 😅 This whole process really needs an overhaul!

I'm in the exact same situation right now! My payment status changed to "issued" 5 days ago but still nothing in my mailbox. The daily mail check has become part of my routine at this point 😩 I called the EDD number yesterday and after 2 hours on hold, the rep told me to wait 10 business days from the issue date before they can do anything. She also mentioned that mail delays have been worse lately due to staffing issues at USPS. I'm trying to stay patient but it's hard when you're budgeting around that money. Definitely going to try that Informed Delivery thing someone mentioned - sounds like it could save some anxiety!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one going through this! Just hit day 7 since my payment was "issued" and I'm definitely feeling that mailbox anxiety too 📫 It's frustrating that they make us wait 10 business days before they'll even look into it - like, we need this money now! Thanks for sharing what the rep told you about USPS staffing issues, that actually makes me feel a bit better knowing there's a reason for the delays. I'm definitely signing up for that Informed Delivery service everyone's talking about. Hoping all of our checks show up soon! 🤞
