IRS Transaction Code 570: No updates after identity verification. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a transaction code 570 on my tax return and it's been weeks with no updates. I verified my identity back in early April, but still nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what to do next or how long I should expect to wait? I'm getting really frustrated with the lack of information from the IRS.

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been stuck with a 570 code since March. It's so frustrating! Have you tried calling the IRS? I've heard some people have had luck getting more info that way.

β’Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/UiAegRQ2Is8

β’I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

β’How long did you have to wait once they called you back?

β’Only about 5 minutes! Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own

Here's what I know about code 570: β’ It means the IRS has frozen your account temporarily β’ Common reasons: identity verification, math errors, or additional review needed β’ Usually resolves within 9 weeks, but can take longer β’ You can try calling the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service for help β’ Check your transcript weekly for updates Hang in there, OP. The system is super backed up this year.

I had this issue last year. Turns out there was a discrepancy between my reported income and what my employer submitted. Double check all your documents!

Has anyone tried contacting their local congressperson's office? I've heard they can sometimes help push things along with the IRS.

β’I did this! It actually helped. Took about 3 weeks, but I finally got some movement on my account.

β’Wow, I hadn't even thought of that. Might give it a try if I don't see any progress soon. Thanks!

PSA: If you're experiencing financial hardship because of the delay, make sure to mention that when you finally get through to the IRS. They might be able to expedite your case.

I'm going through the exact same thing! Filed in March, got the 570 code after identity verification, and it's been radio silence ever since. What's really frustrating is that the "Where's My Refund" tool just keeps saying "being processed" with no timeline. I've been checking my transcripts weekly like @Saleem Vaziri suggested, but still no movement. Definitely going to try calling first thing in the morning like @Aisha Jackson recommended. This whole situation is so stressful, especially when you're counting on that refund! π€
