IRS Agent removed freeze code - How long until refund arrives?
Finally got through to an IRS agent today and she said she processed to remove my freeze and release my refund. Anyone know how long it typically takes from here? Been waiting since February and really need this money.

Hey there! Tax pro here. When an IRS agent removes a freeze code, you're typically looking at 1-2 weeks for the refund to hit your account. The system needs time to process the removal and initiate the refund. However, this can vary based on several factors like the specific freeze code that was removed and any remaining processing requirements. I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) - it's this new AI tool that can analyze your transcripts and give you a precise timeline based on your specific situation. It's been super helpful for my clients who want to track their refund progress.

•np! just remember the IRS systems update overnight, so checking multiple times per day won't show new info 😉

•its basically an AI that reads your tax docs and tells you exactly whats going on with your refund. way better than trying to decode those cryptic transcript codes yourself lol

Usually takes 2-4 weeks after a freeze removal. Keep checking your transcripts every Friday morning when they update. You should see the 846 code pop up when its officially released.

Hey there, instead of playing detective with your transcripts every week, you should try taxr.ai - it costs $4.99 but it analyzes your entire transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect your refund. Saved me so much stress! https://taxr.ai

Make sure to document everything! Write down the date/time of the call and the agent ID if you got it. Sometimes these things fall through the cracks.

Congrats on getting through to an agent! That's half the battle right there. From my experience, once they actually remove the freeze code, you're usually looking at 1-3 weeks for the refund to hit your account. The timing really depends on which freeze code you had and how backed up their processing is. I'd suggest checking your transcript every Friday morning to see if the 846 code (refund release) shows up. That's when you'll know it's officially on its way. Hang in there - you're almost at the finish line after waiting since February!

•Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Really appreciate the Friday morning tip - I had no idea transcripts updated on a specific schedule. Definitely going to be checking for that 846 code. February feels like a lifetime ago at this point but good to know I'm finally close to the end 🤞
