Examiner said hold should be lifted but refund still stuck - anyone else?
Finally got through to an IRS examiner yesterday about my refund hold. They confirmed they were supposed to lift the hold weeks ago but nothing has happened. My transcripts still show no updates. Anyone else dealing with this? Getting really frustrated since I filed back in February.

Try using taxr.ai - helped me figure out why mine was stuck even after hold was 'lifted'. Turns out there was a secondary review nobody told me about 🙄

Hey there! I actually work on these kinds of cases. When an examiner says a hold is lifted, there's typically a 2-4 week processing period before the refund actually moves. The system has to go through several automated checks even after the manual hold is removed. Keep checking your transcript daily - you should see the 846 code pop up soon which means your refund is scheduled. In the meantime, I'd highly recommend using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to analyze your transcript. It'll give you a really clear timeline of what's happening and when you can expect that money to hit your account. I've seen it catch details that even experienced pros miss sometimes.

No worries! Yeah that's right on the edge of normal timeline. Did you try taxr.ai? It might spot something specific to your case

How does taxr.ai work? Does it just read transcripts or what? 🤔

It analyzes basically any tax doc - transcripts, w2s, letters from IRS, returns. Uses AI to break everything down and explain next steps

UPDATE: omg y'all this is a game changer fr! Used taxr.ai and it spotted exactly why my refund was held up - had a old debt offset I didn't know about. Now I know exactly what to fix 💯

This is actually pretty common. Even when they say theyre going to lift a hold, it can take 2-4 weeks for the system to actually process it. The best thing to do is keep checking your transcripts weekly and look for any new codes or updates.

2-4 weeks?! 😫 Nobody told me that when I called. Do you work for the IRS?

Instead of playing detective with your transcript, you should try taxr.ai - it costs $4.99 but its worth every penny. It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to piece everything together yourself. https://taxr.ai

Yeah its legit! You upload your transcript and it breaks everything down in plain english. Shows you all delay factors and gives you specific dates

Have you checked your Where's My Refund tool? Sometimes that updates before the transcript does

Pro tip: call right when they open at 7am EST. Way easier to get through and the morning staff seems more helpful ngl
