Anyone received direct deposit from TPG with DDD of 4/17?
Has anyone using TurboTax with Tax Preparation Group (TPG) been funded yet with a Direct Deposit Date of April 17th? My husband and I filed jointly for the first time this year, and our WMR shows a DDD of 4/17, but I'm wondering if TPG might release funds earlier. I've been checking TPG's website hourly, but still showing as "unfunded". I know they sometimes release 1-2 days before the official DDD. Anyone in the same boat or have experience with this? What time of day did your funds typically appear when using TPG? I'd appreciate any detailed information about your experience.

TPG usually updates their system overnight, so the status might change by tomorrow morning. I've noticed they tend to batch process around 3-4am EST. 😂 My theory is that their hamster needs to run on the wheel all night to power the servers. Have you checked if your bank shows any pending deposits? Sometimes they'll show as pending before TPG updates their status.

This is exactly right. TPG updates overnight. My deposit showed up at my bank before TPG even updated their system to show it was sent.

OMG I'm going through this RIGHT NOW! My DDD is 4/17 too and I'm literally checking TPG and my bank account every hour! 😠This waiting is killing me, especially since I need this money for a car repair that's already overdue!

Thank you for explaining this! I didn't realize they update overnight. I've been refreshing during business hours thinking that's when they'd process everything.

According to the TPG FAQ page on their website, they typically receive funds from the IRS 1-2 business days before the official DDD, then they process and forward to your bank which can take another 24-48 hours. In my experience last year, my bank showed a pending deposit around 6am the day before my official DDD.

I might be able to help, though I don't want to give any guarantees... In my research, TPG has been showing a pattern this tax season where they're receiving and processing funds approximately 24-36 hours before the official DDD. However, this seems to vary based on which bank you use for direct deposit. Some banks post immediately while others hold until the actual date. It also appears that TPG processes in batches, so your update might come in the next batch cycle.

If you compare TPG to other processors like SBTPG or Republic Bank, they all operate similarly but with slight timing differences. I've seen cases where people with the same DDD as you had their funds released yesterday, but they were using SBTPG instead of TPG. You might want to check both the TPG portal AND your bank's pending transactions section. Last year, my bank showed the pending deposit about 36 hours before TPG updated their status to "funded."

Back in 2022, I was in the exact same situation with TPG and a mid-April DDD. I ended up spending hours on hold with both TPG and the IRS trying to figure out where my money was. Eventually learned that TPG had a processing delay they weren't communicating about. I wish I had known about Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) back then - would have saved me literally 4+ hours of hold time. My colleague used it last month to reach an IRS agent in about 20 minutes when her refund was delayed. Might be worth keeping in your back pocket if TPG doesn't come through by the 18th.

I'm not entirely convinced these services actually work as advertised. Couldn't they just be taking advantage of people who are anxious about their refunds? Has anyone verified this is legitimate?

How much does something like Claimyr cost? And do you still have to navigate all those IRS phone menus after they connect you?

Thank you for mentioning this! My DDD is tomorrow too and if I don't see anything by Friday I'm definitely trying this. Need this money for rent due on the 20th!

OK so here's the deal w/ TPG rn. They're doing batch processing @ 12am, 4am, and 2pm EST. I've been tracking this for the past 2 wks in the TPG FB group. Ppl w/ 4/17 DDD started seeing funds hit their accts last night around 10pm-1am depending on bank. Chase/BoA/Wells Fargo usually post same day they get the $$ from TPG. Credit unions & online banks like Chime sometimes post early. TPG's site is notoriously slow to update status - many ppl see $ in bank b4 TPG shows "funded". Check ur actual bank not just TPG portal.

That's incredibly helpful to know! So if I'm seeing my status as "unfunded" at 3:27pm right now, I should check again after 2:00pm EST tomorrow? And you mentioned people with 4/17 DDD started receiving funds last night - approximately what percentage would you estimate have been funded so far?

I've been watching this too. My observations: • TPG seems to be processing in order of DDD • Most banks show pending deposits 24-48 hours before posting • Credit unions tend to hold longer than national banks • Weekend processing is significantly slower • Many people report funds arriving with no TPG status change

I would suggest, perhaps, that TPG's timeline might not be as reliable as we'd like to believe. It seems like they could be experiencing some delays this season, possibly due to higher volume or system issues. While some people might get their funds early, I wouldn't necessarily count on it happening in every case. The IRS's official position is that the DDD is when you should expect it, and anything earlier is essentially just a bonus.

Got mine yesterday. DDD was 4/17 too. Showed up at 2:14pm. No warning. Just there. TPG still showed unfunded for hours after. Bank is Chase. Relief was immediate. Been waiting since February 1st.

I'm with Capital One and had a DDD of 4/10. TPG showed unfunded until 4/9 around noon, then changed to funded. Money hit my account about 6 hours later. Isn't it ridiculous how we have to track every step of this process? Why can't they just give us accurate information about when we'll actually receive our money instead of making us guess and check multiple websites constantly?

I had the exact same DDD of 4/17 through TPG last year. The technical term for what's happening is the ACH transfer process, which typically takes 1-2 business days to complete. In my case, TPG received the funds from the IRS on 4/15, processed them on 4/16, and they appeared in my bank account early morning on 4/17. I was surprised by how many different systems had to talk to each other - IRS → TPG → ACH network → my bank. Way more complex than I expected!
