Anyone using Santa Barbara TPG got their refund for DDD 4/7 yet?

this is 100% accurate. i had a ddd of 3/31 and tpg updated to funded on 4/1. money was in my account a few hours later

Yep, had exact same timing last year. IRS said 4/12, TPG funded 4/13, money in my account 4/14. They're actually pretty reliable with timing.

It actually explains what every code and date means in plain English, gives you timeline predictions, shows you exactly where your money is in the process, and sends alerts when anything changes. Yeah there is a fee but considering how much stress and time it saved me, totally worth it. I was about to call the IRS and wait on hold for hours before I found this.

Yes it works! I was super skeptical too but was desperate after my 4th attempt getting disconnected. The app basically waits on hold for you and then calls your phone when an agent picks up. It was the only way I could talk to a live person at the IRS during tax season.

I use Chase and it just showed up about an hour ago! So about 12 hours after TPG showed funded

Exactly! They're making millions in interest by holding everyone's refunds for a couple extra days. multiply that by millions of tax returns and it adds up quick

This is why I stopped having my fees taken out of my refund. Would rather just pay upfront than deal with TPG's delays. Direct deposit from IRS is so much faster.

same, i couldnt get through for weeks! this service basically calls for you and navigates all the phone menus, then when they get a human on the line, they call your phone and connect you. took about an hour but way better than me trying to call myself over and over

talking to an irs agent directly is literally the only way to get real answers. the website never has accurate info during busy season

👆 This. They're basically double-dipping on fees. Next year I'm just paying my tax prep fee upfront and getting direct deposit from the IRS.

What's an offset? Should I be worried about that?

An offset is when the government takes part of your refund to pay a debt like student loans, back taxes, child support, etc. If you don't have any of those debts you're probably fine. For me it was an old student loan I forgot about 🤦‍♂️
