Anyone in Kansas using SoFi Money received their tax refund yet? DDD of 3/15?

I'm in Kansas too but I use a different bank (First National). My DDD was also 3/15 and I received my refund yesterday morning. The IRS usually releases payments in batches throughout the day, and different banks process them at different speeds. SoFi might be slower with this particular batch or the IRS hasn't released your payment yet. Try checking your SoFi account late tonight - sometimes they post overnight.

Have you looked at your transcript? I was in the same situation and was freaking out about not getting my refund. After waiting FOREVER for my refund (also had a mid-March DDD), I found a way to actually talk to someone at the IRS using claimyr.com. Got through to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of waiting on hold for 3+ hours or getting hung up on. The agent confirmed my refund was actually sent but had an issue with my routing number. Got it fixed and received my money 2 days later. Best money I ever spent considering I was waiting on a $3400 refund!

I'm in Topeka with SoFi and got my refund this morning! Same DDD of 3/15. Check your pending transactions too, sometimes it shows there first.

SoFi usually deposits between 10am and 2pm in my experience. Been with them for 3 years and that's the pattern I've seen. Give it until tomorrow before worrying.

not in kansas or using sofi but my refund with 3/15 ddd hit my chase account yesterday afternoon. the irs seems really random with when they actually send the money vs the official date. hoping yours comes thru soon!

Call the IRS! I had a similar issue last year and it turned out there was a problem with my direct deposit info. Spent 3 hours trying to get through on the phone but eventually talked to someone who fixed it.

This is exactly why I switched from SoFi to a local credit union. SoFi was always inconsistent with deposit times for me. Tax refunds especially would come in at random times, sometimes 3 days after the DDD. Their customer service wasn't helpful when I asked about it either.

Have you called SoFi directly? Sometime banks hold tax refunds for 24-48 hours for "verification" which is total BS. I'd call them and ask if they're showing any pending deposits for your account. I've had good luck getting them to release funds sooner by calling.

The whole "2 days early" thing with online banks is SO inconsistent with tax refunds. They always advertise that benefit but I've never gotten a tax refund early with any online bank. Regular paychecks yes, but IRS refunds seem to follow different rules. From what I understand, the Treasury department doesn't release them the same way as regular ACH transfers.

Do you have any offset debts? Like student loans, child support, etc? Sometimes that can cause delays even after you get a DDD.

The whole tax refund system is such garbage 🗑️. The IRS knows exactly how much they owe us and when they're supposed to pay it, but they still make us jump through hoops and wait with zero transparency. Meanwhile if we owe THEM money and are a day late, we get hit with penalties. Such a one-sided system.

Do you have a complex return? Sometimes even with a DDD, if you claimed certain credits like EIC or Child Tax Credit, there can be additional verification steps that cause delays.

I had the EXACT same situation. DDD of 3/15, using SoFi, in Kansas (Wichita area). My refund hit around 4pm today. Just wait a bit longer!

The way I finally got my refund after waiting 8 months last year was by contacting my congressional representative. They have staff who deal with IRS issues and can often get answers when we can't. Might be worth a shot if you don't get your refund in the next few days.

I lost all faith in WMR years ago. I've learned to just expect my refund when it shows up. Last year WMR said my refund was still processing for 2 weeks AFTER I received it. The system is completely broken.

I always get my tax refunds on paper checks now. Yes it takes longer initially but I've never had the problems my friends with direct deposit always seem to have. The check comes exactly when they say it will.
