Another 60 day review letter from IRS - How many times will they verify?

Just got my fourth 60 day review letter for my 2022 taxes. This is getting ridiculous. Already sent them everything they asked for twice. Anyone else stuck in this verification loop? Starting to think they're just pushing papers around at this point.

The 60-day review letters are frustrating but they're actually different reviews. Each department has to verify different aspects of your return. Best thing to do is call the IRS (1-800-829-1040) early morning around 7am EST to speak with someone about exactly which department is reviewing your return and what specific documentation they need.

Keep trying! Tuesday-Thursday are usually better days to call

Hey, I had similar issues and was going crazy trying to figure out what was happening with my refund. Someone here recommended taxr.ai and it was a game changer. For $1 it analyzed my transcript and told me exactly why I was getting these letters and what to do. Way better than guessing or waiting on hold forever. https://taxr.ai

Ugh, I feel your pain! I'm on my third 60-day letter for 2022 too. What's really annoying is they keep asking for the same documents I already sent. I started keeping copies of everything with delivery confirmations just to prove I sent stuff. The whole system feels broken honestly. Have you tried getting your account transcript online? Sometimes that shows what specific issue they're actually reviewing.

Yes! The transcript is so helpful - it actually shows the specific codes for what they're reviewing. Mine showed they were stuck on my EITC verification even though I'd already sent proof of my kid's school records. At least now I know exactly what department to bug when I call 😅
