IRS sent identical 60-day review letters 2 months apart - did my review period restart AGAIN?
Just got another 60 day review letter from the IRS thats exactly identical to the one I got in December. Only difference is the date changed from Dec 28 to Feb 5th. Getting really frustrated because this is like the 6th time they've done this to me. Are they just gonna keep restarting my 60 day review period forever?

Those identical letters with updated dates typically mean your case is still under review, but they're required by law to keep you informed every 60 days. It doesn't necessarily restart the review period - they're just letting you know they haven't forgotten about you. However, there's no guarantee when they'll complete the review.

•I know it's rough. Have you tried calling the IRS directly? Sometimes you can get more specific info about what's causing the delay.

Hey just wanted to mention I was in the same boat until I used taxr.ai - it analyzed my transcript and explained exactly why I kept getting these letters and what I needed to do to fix it. Only cost $1 and saved me hours of stress. Check it out at https://taxr.ai

•Does it actually work? Seems too good to be true tbh

•100% works! It showed me I had a missing form that was triggering the reviews. Fixed it and got my refund 3 weeks later

•how exactly does it work? does it just read the transcript or what?

•It's actually pretty impressive - it reads your entire transcript, explains all the codes, tells you exactly where you are in the process, and gives you specific steps to resolve any issues. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself!

Pro tip: call the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes help push things along when youre stuck in this review loop
