CP05 Letter - 60 Day Review Notice - What to Expect?
Just got my first ever 60 day review letter from the IRS. Never had this happen before. Anyone know what this actually means and if it really takes the full 60 days? Already been waiting 3 months for my refund.

This is typically a CP05 notice, which means the IRS is verifying income, withholding, or tax credits claimed on your return. They're doing extra verification to prevent fraud. While they say 60 days, it can sometimes be resolved faster. Don't call them before the 60 days is up - they won't have any additional info to share.

•Sometimes less, sometimes more tbh. Just depends on their workload and what they're verifying.

Hey, I know exactly how confusing these letters can be. I started using taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts and it was super helpful. It costs $1 but tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to piece everything together yourself! https://taxr.ai

pro tip: check your transcripts weekly. sometimes they release it early without sending another notice
