WMR shows 60-day review notice - anyone dealt with this before?

Just checked Where's My Refund and got updated to a 60-day review with a letter coming in the mail. Never had this happen before with my taxes. Getting really nervous about this since I need my refund. Has anyone gone through this? Does it actually take the full 60 days if everything on my return is correct?

Freya Johansen

The 60-day review is typically for identity verification or to review documentation. While they say 60 days, many cases resolve faster if there aren't any issues. Keep checking your transcripts weekly for updates. Most common triggers are earned income credit, child tax credit, or large changes in income from previous year.

Honestly calling rarely helps with reviews. They'll just tell you to wait for the letter 🤷‍♂️

Hey, if you want a real clear picture of what's going on, check out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's causing delays and when to expect your refund. Only costs $1 and saved me weeks of stress. https://taxr.ai

100% works! It showed me exactly why I was delayed (unreported 1099 from 2021) and what to do about it. Better than calling IRS 50 times lol

Listen up because this is important. I'm a tax professional and here's what you need to know about 60-day reviews: 1. Don't panic - these are routine and often automated 2. Most common triggers: income discrepancies, identity verification, or documentation review 3. Best tools to track progress: - Check WMR daily (morning updates) - Use taxr.ai for detailed transcript analysis ($1 well spent) - Monitor mail for IRS correspondence 4. Average resolution time is actually 45 days 5. DO NOT call IRS unless you hit day 60 btw if anyone needs super specific analysis of their situation, seriously try taxr.ai - it's changed how I help my clients understand their delays.
