FL DEO Unemployment: Stuck in adjudication for 1+ month, no $550 payment. How to speed up?
Has anyone else been waiting forever for their unemployment payment? I've been stuck in adjudication for over a month now. I already talked to a rep and gave them all the info they needed like 2 weeks ago. Still no $550 payment. This is getting ridiculous. Anyone know how long this usually takes or what I can do to speed things up?

Pro tip: if you get through to someone, ask for a tier 2 specialist right away. They have more power to actually fix things.

Sending good vibes your way, OP. This whole system is a dumpster fire, but we're all in it together. You got this! 💪

•Have you considered reaching out to news stations? Sometimes media attention helps.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel to get the grease.

•Yeah, I've called like a million times. Always busy or I'm on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 45 mins of hold time that way.

•Another trick is to call during their less busy hours. Sometimes lunch hours or late afternoons are less congested.

For those of you experiencing long wait times with EDD, services like Claimyr can indeed be helpful. Claimyr charges a fee of about $20 to help you bypass the initial phone menu and reach a live agent faster, which can save you a significant amount of time. While many users report positive experiences, it's important to weigh these costs against your personal financial situation. Keep in mind that Claimyr is one of several options and isn't officially endorsed by EDD, so your mileage may vary. If you're comfortable with technology, also consider reaching out through social media as some have found success there. Ultimately, staying persistent, patient, and exploring all avenues can expedite the process, but remember that systemic issues often contribute to delays that even the most diligent follow-up can't entirely mitigate.

Have you checked your claim status online? Sometimes it updates there before they actually tell you anything.

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important EDD emails end up there.

•It might be a good idea to add their email domain to your safe senders list, just in case.

I swear, dealing with EDD is harder than my actual job was. And they wonder why we need unemployment...

I feel your pain. Been there, done that. Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Email your state representative. Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's butt. 3. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 4. Check your online account for any pending tasks or messages you might have missed. 5. If all else fails, file an appeal. It's a pain, but it can get things moving. Hang in there. The system is broken, but you'll get your money eventually.

•I've also heard that having a lawyer send a letter can expedite things, though that's a costly route.

I heard they're super backlogged because of all the fraud cases. Doesn't make it any easier for us legit folks tho 😑

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k
