FL DEO Unemployment: $550 payment stuck in adjudication for over a month - How to speed up process?
I've been waiting for my unemployment payment for over a month now. It's still in adjudication even though I talked to a rep about 2 weeks ago and gave them all the answers they needed. Does anyone know when I'll finally get that $550 payment? I'm getting desperate here and bills are piling up. Any advice on how to speed this up or at least get a straight answer from someone?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems like a lot just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and decided to try it. Saved me hours of frustration and I finally got my issue resolved. Worth every penny imo.

•How long did it take for them to call you back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than trying to call yourself!

•That actually sounds pretty useful. Might give it a shot if I can't get through soon.

•I used Claimyr too, and it really did help me connect faster. But I agree, having to pay for something like this feels wrong.

Anyone else notice that the unemployment website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄 It's like they're trying to make this as difficult as possible.

•For real! It's so inconvenient when you're trying to stay on top of things. They need to fix this ASAP.

Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature? I've been trying to use it but it always says "all agents are busy" no matter what time I try.

•The chat is useless. I've never once gotten through. It's probably just a bot anyway.

•I actually got through once! ...only to be told they couldn't help me and I needed to call instead. 🤦♂️

•I'd recommend trying during off-peak hours or even late at night if they're 24/7. Sometimes you might have better luck then.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along. Worth a shot!

•I hadn't thought of that. How do I find out who my rep is?

•Just google "[your state] find my representative". There should be a website where you can enter your address and it'll tell you who represents you. Good luck!

•This approach worked for a friend of mine. Sometimes a little political pressure can make a big difference.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been waiting for 3 months now. The system is completely broken and nobody seems to care. Good luck getting any answers from those clowns 🤡

•It's so frustrating how widespread this issue is. I hope they make some changes soon; this can't keep happening.

Friendly reminder to everyone: don't forget to certify for your weeks! Even if you're waiting on a payment, keep certifying. You don't want to miss out on backpay when they finally get their act together.

•Great reminder! It's easy to overlook this when you're stressed about payments not showing up.

If you're still struggling to get your unemployment payment, it's worth considering services like Claimyr to help connect you with a live agent. While some users have reported success with it, it's important to weigh the cost against your current situation. Sometimes investing in a service that can save you time and help resolve your issue may be worth it, but it's not a guarantee. Additionally, try leveraging any social media groups or forums where you might find tips specific to your state's process. It's also wise to keep detailed records of all interactions with the unemployment office, as this can be crucial in resolving disputes or errors. Persistent follow-up and ensuring your documentation is complete and accurate will improve your chances of a swift resolution. Remember, you're not alone in this struggle, and tapping into community resources, including your local representatives, can sometimes yield benefits. Balancing urgency with patience, unfortunately, is part of navigating the current unemployment system.

Pro tip: if you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right at 7:59am. The lines open at 8, but if you're already in the queue, you might get through faster. Worked for me!

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of uploading them online? I heard that sometimes works faster.

•Lol I know it sounds crazy, but government agencies are stuck in the stone age. Sometimes old school methods work best 🤷♂️

•I've heard of people using local libraries or office supply stores to fax documents. Maybe that could be an option if you're desperate!

Is anyone else worried about having to pay some of this back later? I've heard horror stories about overpayments and I'm scared to spend any of the money I do get.

Luca Russo
•Omg yes! I'm terrified of this. I've been putting aside a portion of each payment just in case.

•This is why I'm keeping all my documentation. If they try to come after me later, I'll be ready to fight it.

•It's a valid concern. I've read about some states setting up payment plans for overpayments, so definitely keep records just in case.

Here's what you need to do to get your payment ASAP: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and interactions with the unemployment office. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. Use that Claimyr service if you're having trouble getting through. 3. Reach out to your state representative or senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping with unemployment issues. 4. File an appeal if necessary. If your claim is denied or delayed, you have the right to appeal. 5. Join unemployment support groups on social media. Sometimes you can get insider tips or find out about glitches in the system. 6. Consider contacting local media if your case is particularly egregious. Public pressure can sometimes speed things up. 7. Make sure all your documentation is in order and easily accessible. Have your ID, social security card, and any relevant employment documents ready. 8. Stay on top of any requests for additional information. Respond promptly to avoid further delays. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!
