DEO Adjudication Pending 4+ Months - How to Speed It Up?
Hey everyone, I'm at my wits end here. My unemployment adjudication has been pending for over 4 months now. It's driving me crazy! I've tried everything I can think of to speed it up, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else been stuck in this limbo for so long? Any advice on how to get things moving?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was stuck in adjudication hell for 3 months. Here's what finally worked for me: 1. Call every single day. Be polite but persistent. 2. Make sure all your docs are uploaded and correct. 3. Ask to speak to a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere. 4. Reach out to your local state rep. They can sometimes light a fire under the DEO. 5. Document everything. Every call, every person you talk to. Hang in there, it's frustrating but you'll get through it!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: check your spam folder religiously. Sometimes important emails end up there.

•Calling everyday seems excessive. Don't they just get annoyed?

•In my experience, being a squeaky wheel helps. Just stay polite and they usually understand your frustration.

4 months?! That's insane. The system is so broken 😡

Have you tried contacting your state representative? They can sometimes help speed things up.

•I haven't tried that yet. How do I find out who my rep is?

•Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most states have a website where you can enter your address and it'll show you who represents you.

•Thanks! I'll give that a shot.

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

•Sounds sketchy. Is it legit?

•Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold time.

•20 bucks tho? 🤔 That's steep for a phone call.

•True, but think about how much time you waste on hold. For me, it was worth it to actually talk to someone.

lol welcome to the club 🤡 I've been waiting 6 months. DEO is a joke.

Have you checked if there's any missing information on your claim? Sometimes that can cause delays.

•I've triple-checked everything. As far as I can tell, it's all there and correct.

•Hmm, then it might just be the backlog. Keep pushing!

I heard they're implementing a new system soon. Maybe that'll help clear the backlog? 🤞

•Yeah right, and I'm the queen of England 👑 They've been saying that for years.

•Fair point. I guess I'm just trying to stay optimistic 😅

Pro tip: if you can, try calling right when they open. The queue is usually shorter then.

This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes public callouts get their attention.

•I haven't! Do I just tweet at the DEO account?

•Yep, and use relevant hashtags like #unemployment #[yourstate]. Sometimes it works!

I'm so sorry you're going through this! 4 months is absolutely ridiculous. I went through something similar last year and what helped me was creating a detailed log of every interaction - dates, times, who I spoke with, reference numbers, etc. Also, if you haven't already, try filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's ombudsman office. They're supposed to help resolve these kinds of issues. Sometimes having an official complaint on file can help push things along. Don't give up - you deserve to get your benefits!
